HOW MANY INDIANS ARE GREAT SCIENTISTS
by ghorpade on Mar 19, 2010 10:58 AM  | Hide replies

How many Indian names do you find in the books of physics, chemistry, maths, zoology, botany etc. how many metals/non metals in the Mendeliff's periodic table have been invented by indians. whose books these scholars have studied?. were they indian made? all the recent developments on treating various diseases are being innovated in foreign land. how many indians can be compared with Bohr, Geleleo, Rutherford, Einstein, Louis Pasteur, Faraday, Marconi etc. some of their concepts are beyond the understanding of professors in indian universities, let alone students. who invented uranium, copper etc, who reached moon or mars first. we have BARC/atom bomb, but who invented atom, neutron, proton, positron, urea, cyclotron, betatron, computer, ship, radar, LASER, internet, programming languages etc, speed of light, earth's revolution, the art of extracting metals from earth, aeroplane, telescope. most importantly, some foreign company had to made contraceptive pills for controlling indian population. Also to increase libido, Pfizer, USA MNC came with Viagra etc.

This is because Indian scientist were not that kind of looking for propaganda. For example, Jagadish Chandra Bose (whose invention was stolen by Marcony and later Marcony won Nobel for it) and Satyen Bose (who discovered Boson particle and Einstein himself recommended Bose for Nobel. But Nobel committee did not listen because he was an Indian. Leter Nobel Committee agreed to its mistake).

It's very much unfortunate that due to political situation the same couldn't be implemented while at Bangladesh the same was imlemented and Gramin Bank was founded which resulted in eradicating poverty to a huge level. So please before commenting on something pls be ready with facts.

What has grameen bank got to do with the formula, it is just a co-operative bank structure which has worked for Bangladesh. In Malaysia and Indonesia such structures r not there but the banks r healthy

Recognition of Individual talent is non-existent.
The Politicians,Government and officials promote corruption purposefully.
No hope for general masses but bits of exceptions here and there. Because u have an enormous population so the size of exception is a bit higher tahn others ...thats all.

It is due to our culture and society. For a long time in our society only a particular section of society had access to studies, other sections were not supposed to study, and further knowledge was not supposed to be shared amongst everyone, original thinking was never given enough importance. In contrast in the western world Francis Bacon made education compulsory for all nearly 500 yrs ago, original thinking rather than learning by rote is valued. Even today in our country original thinking is not promoted. No wonder in spite of a huge popln we dont win enough nobels.
