Sir, You are great
by mefunxy on Mar 18, 2010 10:02 AM  | Hide replies

Dear Sir:

You becoming a President of India has created a problem for politicians in India. Now they cannot find anybody who can fit in your shoes. Look at those who have followed Sr APJ Kalam. They don't exist! We see them reading written speeches and keeping their own political image safe and healthy is all they do. Dr. APJ did to Presidents post what T N Sheshan did to Chief Election Exec position few years back.
Its a sorry state that we couldn't find anybody who could match APJ's personna for presidents role.

by bhuvnesh jawa on Mar 18, 2010 09:37 AM  | Hide replies

usually rediff is used to inserting useless articles and obscene items but thank God atlast they have given one proper article worthwhile.I wish rediff continues to do so by motivating young ones about perseverance, hard work and patience mantras of Dr Kalaam .Even Kalpana Chawla is a role model of many young lads and girls so give details of her too besides Dr.Kiran Bedi and many like them .This type of article should appear every day.

Re: Re: Salute you
by Alok Bishnoi on Mar 18, 2010 10:09 AM
Mr. Sujan,
It was not JC Bose who founded Bose Corp. Your facts are misplaced and knowledge very very shallow.
It was Amar G Bose. In 1956, while a graduate student at MIT, Amar Bose purchased a high end stereo system and was disappointed when it failed to meet his expectations.[21] He later began extensive research aimed at fixing what he saw as fundamental weaknesses plaguing high-end audio systems. The principal weakness, in Bose's view, was that the overall design of the electronics and speaker failed to account for psychoacoustics, i.e. the listener is part of the system. Eight years later, he started the company, charging it with a mission to achieve Better Sound Through Research (which is also the company's slogan).
The company was founded in 1964 by Amar G. Bose, a professor of electrical engineering (who retired in 2005) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Bose has contracts with the US military (Navy,Air Force & Army) and NASA. Amar Bose is still the Chairman and primary stockholder, and also holds the title of Technical Director.

He is the only true secular person in India!
by VASUDEVAN V on Mar 18, 2010 09:19 AM  | Hide replies

Dr.Abdul Kalam is truly a remarkable character and is the only secular person in India in the real sense of the word `secular'. We have only `pseudo-seculars' in our country and the politicians lead the list of `pseudo-seculars'. He richly deserved to be given a second-term, but the pseudo-secular Congress and their Italian born leader denied him that. What a pity that an Italian born woman denied a true secular Indian to be the President of our country a second term. That is a real irony and I do not know how many Indians really feel for this!

Who shouted when Delhi was burning during the anti-sikh riots? Even today everyone shouts only about Gujarat riots, but the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 is a totally forgotten incident. No activist talks about it, no news channel talks about the victims and their sufferings and the family directly responsible for the massacre with the famous statement `when a huge tree falls, the earth shakes' is at the forefront of our politics. That is why I used the word `secular'. Speak out for all victims, whether they are Sikhs, Hindus, Christians or Muslims. You cannot have different yardstick for only Muslim and Christian victims as is happening in our country. I stand by statement that APJ is the only true secular person in India and his silence during the Gujarat riots speaks volumes about his secular approach, because in this country no one is speaking about the Sikh victims even after 25 years. Yes, two wrongs do not make a right. But, at the same time to totally ignore the first major wrong is also not correct!
