he was the best President India ever had.

He actually did Very Little during his tenure. His book 'Wings of Fire' and 'India Vision 2020' are a pipe dreams. Instead if he has simply taken his car 40 Kms from his Presidential Palace he would have seen rampant poverty - but no - he writes books like intellectuals.

Anyway, we are ashamed of Pratibha Patil, at least we are ok with Kalam Ji.

He write books "like" intellectuals... Please get your facts right. He is indeed an Intellectual.
And infact during his tenure, he tried to do ALL he could with all the POWER a president has in India.

Do not link His books and thoughts with Poverty. No doubt Poverty is the number one evil in our country, but we cannot stop writing books or stop being Intellectuals just bcos poverty exists.

We need to be thinking differently.

First you should understand that he himself came from a small town in India and himself was under absolute poverty. You may not know that he was a paper boy dropping news papers at many home when he was a school boy and became a star scientist and grown very hardway. His books are inspiration for the poor. If the poor keep crying for subsidies, they will never attain anything in their life. He is not just OK, he is one of the best we ever had. Nothing wrong in acknowledging the facts.

......... and now wasting public money to fund for his innumerable trips abroad as ex-President (on security and travel) in order to make silly speeches of his times and life to foreigners and rich NRIs ! His bachelor status also gives him a lot of free time to indulge in this expensive pastime.......

Such a knowledgeable and humble person who has risen from a small fishing community to the heights of a bright scientist and President of India.
He will be remembered with great men like Lal Bahadur Shastri, Dr. Rajendra Prasad and many noble leaders this country has produced in the past. He is a good source of inspiration to the younger generation or the future leaders of this nation. He is rarest of rare and feel he should have been the President for more time.

I dunno what was so great about Kalam, becoming the President of India?

I mean what has he done by becoming the President of India, other than being a RUBBER STAMP of Congress...

I dunno, why people act so stupid in praising Kalam and all such people who have ever held the post of THE PRESIDENT, wherein they have proved themselves to be nothing more than a rubber stamp...

STOP THIS BLOODY NONSENSE OF GLORIFYING UNDESERVING PEOPLE BEING AT AN UNDESERVING PLACE...

APJ Abdul Kalam
by sk singhal on Mar 18, 2010 10:06 AM  | Hide replies

It is not great to become President in our environment. SH Gyan Zail Singh also was puppet president made by SMT. Indira Gandhi. SImilary Mrs. Pratibha Patil is also puppet President sworn in through Madam.

Greatness lies in deeds, thoughts and your life you have lived.

The life of Dr Kalam speak about the same. He is respected for his devotion to country and his work as missile man.We are all honoured to have him as our President

Kalam to salam and namaskar
