Courts CAN interfere in state matters. If a matter is state matter, it just means that the state govt has the first right to decide on the subject. It DOES NOT mean that the state govt's decision cannot be questioned or put to scrutiny.
ONLY TWO LANGUAGE SHOULD BE KEPT. IN MAHARASHTRA THEY SHOULD OPT STATE LANGUAGE AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND OTHER THREE SUBJECTS THROUGH OUT THEIR EDUCATION SYSTEM I.E. FROM STD. 1ST TO 10TH.

just dont pay attention..! simple! go read Nitish Kumars development plan!!LOL!
Some of these ministers have HUGE investments in private schools. Its like a syndicate.
The government it seems is suffering from HUGE ego. When the honble. High court struck it down, the minister should have gracefully accepted it and moved in with it.
Instead what this guy doing is postponing the academic year and thereby ruining lives of youngsters.
When will people get together and teach these mafioso netajis a lesson that it is not their right to hold the lives of people for ransom ?
Parents, students and every one is anxious. We are not sure when they will appeal in Supreme Court and when the admissions will happen.
MH govt is perhaps the worst when it comes to these things. They constantly keep changing rules to suit the whims of the INVESTORS of the education sector - netajis.
I think its time students got together and made the govt open its eyes.
I am feeling sorry for all the students as they are suffering bcoz of the non-pragmatic approach of the govt.I hope better sense prevail & the students who will be appearing next year will not undergo the same trauma.
First of all this article should not have come on rediff...rediff posts article related to maharasthra , marathis, thakreys, mumbai, vidarbha farmer suicides, etc...just to create hatred amongs fellow indians...
rediff should have done something more like aboloshing of all state boards including cbse, icse, etc and only one board with one syllabus should exist...only exception of state language which should be compulsary subject so as to preserve the state language...

When it rains in Mumbai it happens, if a film flops here it happens. Unlike other states, Rediff cant do anything
They have best system in education and online application and online status of Counselling and admissions. No loop holes and management quota is fixed at certain percentage.
Mahrashtra govts obsession with Marathi is root cause of all this. they could have easily emulated CBSE with 5 subjects ( 2 langauges) and 3 core subjects ( maths, science and social science). But they want to have marathi at any cost other langauges can be english hindi/sanskrit. morever Mah govt needs to do away with higher langauge/lower language concept.
