A Piegen closes its eyes at the sight of cat in front. The result is the cat eats piegen. In order to improve any system, it is important to understand the system. The caste system is a reality, which can be seen by looking at the caste the candidates in different elections in different constituencies. Let us count the numbers. The numbers will help us getting closer to sulution.

this fellow lalit is ignorant of the perils of caste. caste divides the society, as we witness, and not build bridges. wherever you go, one visit to the famous srisailam temple in nallamala forests, and you will see chowltries and guest houese built for castes such as kamma chowltry, kuruma chowltry, velama chowltry, reddy chowltry, vaisya chowltry, but, you will not find a single chowltry as a devotees chowtry. so, caste divides people even at the abode of gods. let us ged rid of it. remove it as a column from any document.

correct...India is already divided into many ways...furthur division is likely to take place...Its a matter of time that India WILL remain united as long as these MPs-MLAs r there...otherwise it is going to break like SOVIET union...

Dear Mr Prakash,
Since it is so clear from your message it cant be removed from our Indian system, why not try to make an attempt atleast not to instutionalize it. Our Politicians will put their machinery into action to clearly demarcate which areas should be populated by whom, as now the data is available. Also if any Minister is going to give the assurance that this data would be held confidential, it means he will leak without the source every being identified. Hence if we cant stand against the caste system and win the battle, atleast let us stand against the battle to instutionalize it by counting and publishing it.
This will create hugggggggge divisions in the already divided society, Govt has gone really crazy, if the Govt goes ahead, this will be the BIGGGEST BLUNDER in the Indian history post independance, caste has been the root cause of most of the social evils, UNTOUCHABILITY, RACISM, DOWRY, NEPOTISM in every field, SATI, HONOUR KILLING. In this era, where scientists across the world have started creating LIFE ARTIFICIALLY, we are killing people for falling in LOVE. Lot of Talibans already in our soil, please DONT HELP to create more. Mr. Prime minister, to help people, they should be identified based on their economic status, and NOT BASED ON THEIR CASTE. All (if any) good work done will be UTTER WASTE if the society is not stable. DONT BE AN ECONOMIC PRIME MINISTER, BE A SOCIO-ECONOMIC PRIME MINISTER

we should have a prime minister on rotation basis, representing each caste for one turn, so, by the time we complete one term of prime minister for each caste, it will be five thousand years, since, we already have so many castes.
Was caste invisible anytime?. Was India, Pakistan and then Bangladesh partitioned on Caste?. This is coward tactics by religious fanatics!!.
When people are divided by castes, religions, states, gender, income wise, rich and poor, SC,ST, Minority, OBC and handicapts why Caste is scaring religious fanatics and hypocrites.
I do not mind the caste census but I would always suspect its accuracy. In north India (particular Delhi, Haryana and Punjab), I have never found an upwardly mobile lower caste person actually accepting that they belong to lower caste. Even the benefits of reservation are obtained secretively in most middle class urban localities. Of course, it also reflects a strong caste bias against lower castes in our society. How do statistical analysts plan to take care of this sample bias, if at all they want to present factual reports.
In a country like India, we cannot rely on anything. What is the guarantee that the statisticians on the job at the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation dont get orders from the political bosses about the exact nature of population profile they should report? It is absolutely possible under this present government that shamelessly even manipulates a criminal investigative agency like CBI. This, after all, would be percieved as a much smaller civil crime.
