I am a avid biker & have driven long distance similar to the one mentioned by our friend above but NEVER continued if ever I felt sleepy. Please do not encourage such sentences on your site. It's not safe at all
I used to do long trips too. I had a scooter and it gave an added advantage. The front panel of the scooter used to block the wind from hitting me and I used to wear a full helmet with viser. I never got a dusty face.

But what about riding at nights.Headlights of any scooter Geared/Gearless are very weak. Totally unsafe to drive at nighttime

Also the scooter has forced air cooled engine and hance a better mileage and pickup in ghats.
I use to start the journey by 1pm after lunch & reach gooty(place) at around 7pm,take a room have dinner & sleep well till 6am, after bath & tiffin live at 7am reach bangalore around 1pm. In return also the same time & same route. monthly twice i use to go to & fro This was very safe riding without any tiredness
The year was 1993 when there was no express highway, no two lane and in many part of the NH4, there was no road. I was in a Kinetic Honda that had just been introduced.
Started at 8.30 pm from my home in Kothrud and reached Belgaum at 6 am the next morning. Lucky I did not crash, but I enjoyed the ride.
