benefit of learning Hindi?????
by raman iyengar on Aug 19, 2010 05:08 PM  | Hide replies

Whts the benefit of learning Hindi. It is not a national language. Hindi speaking states are not producing any jobs. Only Hindi girls are looking fair, only for that sake I can learn few basics terms in Hindi. Otherwise English gives me bread and butter for me. Tamil gives me pride of belonging to the oldest race in the world wht else I need.

What the F... ??? The talk is on Foreign Language and not Indian Language ... 60% of Indian Population speaks Hindi and not Tamil ... Dude, step out of Tamilnadu and face the real world ... Just to let you know, even in TN, auto/cab driver's try to improvise in Hindi to earn their Bread butter ... Moreover, there is no harm in learning another Indian Language, so stop being so stubborn ...

Well not exactly. According to the Official Languages Act 1963, Hindi and English have nominally equal status, with English taking precedence over Hindi when it comes to communications with non-Hindi speaking states.
