Completely agreed. If the competition was held in US, UK or germany it would have some class. What do you expect in lucknow? Is it the silicon valley of India?
Ankit Fadia wrote a book on hacking by compiling information from the internet. At that time a internet connection was a premium and hence people could not spend time in downloading this information. Ankit's rich parents could afford it and made him look like a super kid. We have some REAL Indian hackers but they never come out in the public.
Diwakar Vaish takes a cue from Ankit and buys these robanoid robo sets and since none of his peers can afford to buy such kits, he definitely gains recognition
its like Pritam stealing from Korean songs because no one listens to korean
Bascially, the dextrity of human fingers is a marvel in itself which i can clearly see as I type this sentence.
Unless we master humanoid finger movement these robots have very little practical application.
One of thes applications I see is fruit picking in orchards and rice planting in fields. We need to gear up on this technology which will definitely have military potential in the near future.

Instead of buying robots and programming them, We need to make fingered robots from the scratch which can aim and fire a gun or tie a shoelace.

what robots who can scratch with their fingers?? what imagination
Those robots can be bought online. Do a google search and you people will get to know how big a fraud he is. You can buy them online - the robonova and the bioloid. He just changed the name to A set. Thats all he did.
And look at the claims !! check other websites and you can see this guy claiming this to be the first dancing robot in the world. School kids play with these robots worldwide.
Grow up, kid!! do something original. Imagine the shame you bring to the country when people who are into robotics see this.. This guy have no real understanding any robotics!! or else, he would not have dared to be this stupid to go to the press and to claim he designed a robonova!!
Its like you buy a Nokia, change the name and claim you made it. Believe me, these are very popular robots among the hobbyists.

The article says he designed and programmed them. So unless you can prove otherwise, don't question. Nowhere does he claim that his robot is the first dancing one in the world.
unneccessarilly boasting, to create media hype, did he designed any robotic circuit? and got patent fot that? Do anyone knows what are Humanoids? It seems that he assembled chinese manufactured part of robotoys and C grade Sharda University would like to take an advantage of this.
