All talks no practicality
by prashant pednekar on Apr 27, 2010 09:26 AM  | Hide replies

Apple is the only company in the world which has not brought any advances in making products cost effective. When Steve talks about his background how fast he has managed to forget. Why cannot apple make products which are affordable to everyone. Steve can make speeches about Microsoft but he cannot ignore the affordability Microsoft has bought. So many Indians have jobs due to Microsoft and its products. Apple is a waste.

Apple products are affordable in the developed countries. Most people there have Apple products.

Why don't developing countries like India come up with innovative products that are cost effective and usable by their own populations? I fail to understand why a country with 1.3 billion people has to depend on outsiders for anything?

Well, I think the reason that happens is because of the rotten , non research / innovation based education system in India as well as non innovative outlook of genera l population. Unless we change our outlook on education from cramming based one to problem solving based, we can't do anything like them.

It is painful to see smaller countries having many times more patents than India. Unless we change ourselves, we will 'proudly' remain back office of the world, nothing better.

what a great man
by Dilip Sanganeria on Apr 26, 2010 12:15 PM

i think he is the most successful and brilliant man who is uneducated and developed such products that nobody can ever challenge, i have seen a tv show where this man directly challenges to bill gates when he launched the latest notebook by saying "whether it be microsoft or google or any other company just c i m just one step ahead then u and will always be " well i strictly belive that education ruins people and every dropout or uneducated man has brain like bill gates too was harvard dropout, and sachin tendulakar was only 8 pass so education doesnt vary but the main thing is u r intellegnt or not, great man

In India, his biological mother would be branded as selling her son to someone more well off. Being poor is crime in India and media and corrupt rulers of decades make sure that poor are humiliated every day..

yes we agree that IPL is a "circus".... but we have to look at it from the other way too.. it has catapult the cricket to whole new level..which no other country was able to do....(england & australia ..many others have tried).. earlier it was only the few in the indian team who could make some handsome money but now its diff. modi must have evaded hundreds of crore(frm IT dept).... but has given much more to ppl ... by creating a self sustaining "BRAND IPL" and for that he is worthy of some APPRICIATION....just see how much employment he has created ... and if we compare with any other scams in india may be this has some positive aspects .... all that should concern the authorities is that money made through IPL is not used against INDIA....(many alligtion that underworlds money is invested in many teams)...
