IAS Topper chose Rural India over Harvard
by Rajendra Aggarwala on Apr 13, 2010 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

Karthik is one of the rare examples in IAS services. His medical background and I am sure his teachers and parents have influenced his outlook on life in a very posive way, and that has been his secret of success so far. He thinks for himself and I find his responses very mature, realistic and consistent.
My fear is, that the environment in which he will need to work, political, and with many of his superiors in his own service, may frustate him before he is able to make significant impact on the region of his service. But India needs young and mature thinkers and doers like him. I wish him best of luck in his goals in life in not only contributing to the society he serves, but in improving the character and quality of his colleages he serves with, by his example.

Bravo!!

Indeed a bold and brave step to set all the luxuries of life aside got on a platter and opted for sheer hard work and learn basics at the roots!! Kuddos!! Difficult to find these characteristics in today's time and situation and a VERY BOLD LESSON TO BE LEARNT BY ONE AND ALL.. especially all the current and FUTURE CIVIL SERVICES ASPIRANTS.. only with such dedication and ETHOS practised throughout from the begining that THIS COUNTRY CAN BE SAVED from the DESPOTISM prevailing under the mask of SO CALLED DEMOCRATIC AND REPUBLICAN SOCIETY!!

Wish you ALL THE VERY BEST.. FOREVER!!
