Dubai is a beautiful place and I love it. I have been there many times and just love to ge there again and again.Yes the Laws are rigid and I think any progressing country should have strict laws to uplift the social living
Rules are there but in reality...Dubai is a nice place. You can have a good life there as long as you are not a public nuisance. Who goes to all the dance bars? Arabs! Who makes all sorts of deals with the dancing girls? Arabs! Once the holiday season starts all Arabs rush to Egypt and Morocco for what? Yes! you guessed it. So everything is possible as long as you keep a low profile in gulf countries. However, one thing very strictly prohibited...is POLITICS.
I am living in Dubai for the past 5 yrs, ofcourse gals can wear short skirts & hot pants any where in dubai, none of the mall mention such things. though itz true, u cannot show love affection whn out side your home.
I just love dubai & i would recommend people to come & see this beutiful place. it got everything u need, shopping, party life, beaches, high speed roads, high rise buildings, etc.
I think the Almighty (whatever name he/she is called) has given the gulf countries oil wealth on purpose! Without that, no one would come to their countries either for tourism or for other purposes, with such gross interference in the freedom of the individual. I think our Ram Sena, Shiv Sena and Tamil Nadu's PMK can do well to visit such places to get tips on how to implement their fascist and cultural policing agenda!
Islam was a progressive religion back in the days. Remember Umrao Jaan was a call girl. Anarkali was also the same case. These Muslim rulers had kothas where mujras occured regularly. Kothas are very similar to gentleman's clubs where Muslim girls gave all kinds of services. So how come now a days these Muslim clergy doesnt allow all this? Do they not want young Muslim guys and girls to enjoy and have fun?
It is wrong to force anybody to not consume food in public during Ramadhan. I say so because nowhere it is wriiten in Islam that one can be forced to restrain from consuming food during day time in the month of Ramadan even if the person is a non-muslim. Anyway consumption of food in public is a basic right and no religion can or should restrain it.
There is nothing like all these bull shit stories.I was in dubai in Jan, feb 2010.the above story ,I too read while I was there. There are more twists and angles to the story than reported.Drinking and all those things are pretty Ok and no body is going to quesion u unless u r a troublemaker. The police and other authorities are so very polite that u cant compare with that of indain cops n authorities...
When the liquor shops or the bars open.. invariably u will find the arabs entering first with their dogs...anything that has a whole will do for them...
