I have a doubt
by mahesh waran on May 29, 2009 08:42 AM  | Hide replies

All are tellin , use local languages, Is it the same case with people coming to India(though they are quiet) they are speaking their language only right. Why should we hide our language. If any Foreigner is harme d in India, its made as a big news(Which is correct) the same should happen in case of Indians in foreign soil. Offenders should feel ashamed of themselves.

Instead of arguing whether we should hide our local language or not, try and imbibe what the guys who have been there are trying to convey. If you are smart, try using their tips to save your a.s.s, else try using our local language in sensitive situations and get a royal flogging!
sometimes, there is a very thin line between bravery and foolishness

The best answer to your tile is - DO NOT GOTO AUSTRALIA.

IS THE STUDY CAN NOT BE COMPLETED IN INDIA? GOING ABROAD FOR STUDY IS A FASHION AND THE CHILDREN OF CROREPATIs ARE ONLY GOING. IF ANYONE FEELS INDIA DOES NOT HAVE PROPER EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES THEN MANY STUDENTS FROM OUR VILLAGES WOULD NOT HAVE SUCCEEDED IN THEIR LIFE. IF A PERSON HAS TALENT IT REFLECT ANYWHERE HE/SHE STAYS/STUDY.

FYI, THOSE STUDENTS WERE NOT ATTACKED WHILE STUDYING WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS/HOSTEL, RATHER WERE ATTACKED AT DISCO/PUB ! WERE THOSE STUDENTS READING THEIR TEXT BOOK INSIDE THE DISCO/PUB ? GOOGLE IT AND READ IT AT REDIFF PUBLISHED ON 27TH MAY ITSELF... THEY WERE ATTACKED IN A PARTY ... ACCEPT THE BITTER TRUTH.

TALENT ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH, NOR GOING ABROAD.. WHAT MATTERS IS HARD WORK..

BUT YOU KNOW, I THINK "HARD WORK PAYS OFF, BUT Y TAKE A CHANCE?"

Dowry & Status – Boys Girls - Status
by gudguy on May 29, 2009 07:42 AM

wat ever, The scenario in Australia, US and UK is also same… it has become a fashion to study abroad and these students cant’ do much apart from working in hotels, malls, shops, petrol bunks and Mc Donald’s. 10 INDIAN STUDENTS murders in last 24 months in US and 8 from Andhra Pradesh, now you can imagine how many people have gone to US from this part, and these guys work in small Indian hotels, malls, petrol bunks and come here and say they work in Software companies and get good bride/grooms and most important get big Dowry!!! Its has started some 10 to 12 year ago and still going on….and I assume it will go on….People are ready to get beaten up in foreign countries for their status/get dowry here in India. Parents die for giving their daughter to get married to an NRI to just to keep his head high, to say to society that his daughter and son-in-law are in abroad this irritates others and they start finding a NRI to what ever the dowry they demand???!!! this has become a cycle. For girls its just become a fashion to study abroad, take big loans convince parents that once they get Software jobs it will be couple of months they can repay this loans!!!  Youth are been FOOLED by the hype created by these countries, the fact is the great four jobs (like working in hotels, petrol bunks, malls) the locals hate them and no one would be interested in those and we are very good in these and we are compelled to do jobs as we have to stay and get monthly expenses

Try stopping an Indian going overseas for education
by R R on May 29, 2009 07:31 AM  | Hide replies

If you tell any Indian be it your friend or family member, that better to study in India and donot waste your money and time to go overseas for education,,, then you are told that you just dont want them to have better life,,, and want to earn for yourself only...

If you go overseas then liabilities increase and then you have to repay the loan and all and it takes time to repay loan and then earn back soe money which we have shelled out for education..
But people dont understand this and go overseas for education thanks to some recruiting agent or influenced by other students in college

I'm staying in Melbourne myself. I know really that these guys were either in their works or inside their homes. None of them were in disco kinda thing. If rediff published something like that, they published it wrong. simple......nothing to accept the bitter truth.....then I would not have been voicing my protest here
