Keep reading the "Employment news" . Advertisements for all the serivces appear in this paper. You can select the proper entry point for you. Look at the eligiblity and start prepapring for the written tests first . I f you pass this test. you can start preparing for the physical test, personal interview , group discussion and group tasks etc.
Read the competition success review for tips on attcking these tests. Or you can visit the Army website.
Regards,
S.Suresh,
Trichy.

I have been an office in the IAF and have also worked in MNC's outside India. Services has probably the best working atmosphere, and is indeed a nobel service.
However it the pay packages and perks are megerly, less than equivalant years of service in other Central Govt services. Not to mention the lack of respect from the govermnent and the citizens of the country when compared to IAS, IPS and IFS. This is probably the services work too far away from the common man, and the government is not bothered as the services cannot go on strike and are banned from going to the press.

The pay packages are indeed low; but, the retirement benefits beats any other service hands down. Retd army officers (not sure of non-commissioned) get high pension, access to the armed forces hospitals (best in the country), and of course the canteen (CSD). Plus, excellent schools for your kids and housing while in service (I have relatives in the army, but all are commissioned officers: specifically, above the rank of major).

As far as respect, if you mean "rubab", then yes. People who want the power will go to IAS and IPS.

Brig and above? That means Brig/Major General/lieut. General and General? I'm guessing that's less than 100 people, no? Is that even a significant number?

watch your language. We are in the air force. We are proud of it. For the people who are afraid of death, such language is good.
