violence ???
by deepak on Aug 28, 2009 07:58 AM

no one has guts to confront ideologies of violence, simply because they want to be politically correct..when you see British sissies stand mute while Islamists boo their churches and religions and British soldiers..you wonder where has basic decent courage has gone..India is even more cowardly in confronting terror.

The problem is good over evil
by Calspadeaspade on Aug 08, 2009 12:05 AM

Evil comes in many forms As bad mother in law, bad daughter in law or sister in law or a husband. Unfortunately good people suffer whether it is man or woman because they are too decent to fight back at the same level of the bad guys.

Violence against women
by Denis Khan on Jun 25, 2009 01:00 PM  | Hide replies

Sadly, there is no protective mechanism to guard a working girl against casting couch traps or exploitation by her powerful male colleagues. An aspiring actress is promised a lead role via the casting couch. She has either to resort to violence or meekly submit. An airhostess/ corporate female employee is lured by a highly powerful male colleague. She has either to commit suicide, or abandon her job.

My future plans: The tenth year of Breakthrough is approaching, so we're analysing situations and checking how we can bring the human rights issue to hit home -- which is the aim of Breakthrough.

If you really belive in empowerment to women and a true spirted feminist "Just takeup the recent case of bail to 2 months girl(female)baby in dowry case and fight for her getting justice that's what a feminist should pursue first not (wife) only .

the problem is that the "women protection" in India means "wife protection". no protection for mother-in-law, sister-in-law and the baby girl of the family. and if men shout for the rights of their mothers and sisters they are branded as wife beaters. there is an organisation MASI (mothers and sisters institition, not sure of the full form)which takes up the causes of the other ladies in the house and not just the wife...all congratulations to that...

'Nobody wants to touch the issue of violence against women'
by varruchi sharma on Jun 24, 2009 01:35 PM

Atleast in bengal girls are not descrimited agaist boys rather boys are descriminated.A girl will go to other house and she has to learn cooking also it is also a fact of the life which she should not deny. For th sake of doing something she has choosen wrong path which is wrong because of her wrong conception of the society norms and traditions.Does she not cook or eat at home, has she not gone to other house,These types of boys or girls spread wrong ideas in the society and advocates all wrong notions.Accidents and or incidents can happen with any one and instead of changing the wrong perception if u start fighting it is like adding more salt .Now even after 62 years of freedom supreme court say to abide by all sayings of your wife Which means to keep harmony in the family one of you to be peaceful andsilent

Empowering Women
by Ramanath Babu on Jun 24, 2009 12:55 PM  | Hide replies

Mahatma Gandhi said, 'empowering women is empowering the society'. If a boy is given education, it only benefits him, whereas if a girl is given education, the whole family get education and the future generation too.

If men are ill-terating the women, the responsibility of the same goes to their mother - a woman. If she had imparted proper culture to her son, such ill-treatment would not have happened. The reason for all trouble is that our women were not educated, they were not cultured or refined. And the reason for their backwardness is men, who did not allower them to get education. In recent times, men do not allow girls to borne. They done away with them by indulging in female foeticide.

the problem is that the "women protection" in India means "wife protection". no protection for mother-in-law, sister-in-law and the baby girl of the family. and people like you believe that your mother is always wrong and must be beating your wife in your absense. you just come out in the open and begin shouting in the society that mothers are bad and wives are always good...and if men shout for the rights of their mothers and sisters they are branded as wife beaters. there is an organisation MASI (mothers and sisters institition, not sure of the full form)which takes up the causes of the other ladies in the house and not just the wife...all congratulations to that...and shame on you for saying that our mothers have not taught us properly (i dont know of your mother, but in general a mother is always good)

why dont u put it this way: if a woman is ill-treating his in-laws the responsibility goes to the mother of the woman and the woman herself. why u hell bent on presuming that a man ill-treats a woman always?? it is better to write "if any person ill-treats any other person, then the responsibility goes to the parents, partly?"...

Dear Krishna

Realy good to see a logical comments ..when we talk about " women Protection " it is basicaly Protection of wife . One Female as wife can lodge FIR unde section 498 A and all ladies of her Sasural will be in jail , without any Interrogation or enquiry ... then where is women Protection ??

This Law can never Protect husband , but at least it must protect Mothers n sisters ..
