To clarify
by karthik on Aug 02, 2009 04:55 PM

Thank you all forthe kind words.
I am karthik sivaram, technical head of this project.
What apocalypse now says is true to a certain exttent, but i think its rather unfair, as we never claimed to invent this technology, what wehave done is make a whole lot safer to use and customise it for use on an auto rick shaw, which believe me is a lot different from cars.
Claims that we bought this of the market and fitted are totally false, we indegenously developed the whole kit.
If you have any more questions, complaintsor anyjust random musings, feel free to conatct me .
My email address is karley12345@yahoo.com

OLD TECHNOLOGY SHAMELESSLY COPIED AND CLAIMED AS OWN INVENTION !!

Google "yahoo hydroxy watercar HHO youtube", you'll see thousands using the same water splitters developing hydrogen which is mixed with petrol to get the extra boost. There are also many more DIY (DoItYourself)groups all over the internet!!! Youtube has plenty of these cars and other vehicles along with how to do tutorial videos.
Also this HHO technology is commercially available as a kit from 4k to 10k in Bangalore , Coimbatore etc., where people are fitting them from Autos to Skodas.

These are just 'gimmick' news making stuff by the so called 'top' colleges like RVCE, PESIT, MSRIT , every year. All they do is buy a kit , assemble it and claim that THEY invented it!!!! ...without crediting the original inventors :-X
...and to see that they have successfully "fooled" big scientific giants like IISc, Bosch....... where are the scientists and their brains there???!!!!! dont they know a copied technology when it is ALL OVER the Internet???

Shame!!!

Checkout "HHO HYDROXY BROWN'S GAS" on Google and Youtube. You'll find 92000 pages!!!
This is a very popular method improved and used by hobbyists. Lot of cars in TN that are fitted with the Coimbatore kit.

It is wrong to claim ownership of somebody elses invention and product.
Coming from a high placed popular college like RVCE is a real SHAME.

If it is so simple then why is it not used by production cars????

Also this is a project that they neeed to do as a part of their curriculum and they do not need to invent something... They can make a better alternative as well....

The only thing shameless about this is netizen like you who only knows to browse and find fault with others.. Ever Spared a thought to actually go ahead and do something of the various things u see on the net???

They are only a set of students who have tried out something taht me and you dont have time for... it is OK if u dont encourage but dont discourage the young minds....

Mr DK...
Production cars have international saftey standards that must be satisfied, before they declare an automobile safe for the general public.
You have no idea what a mixture of Hydrogen and Oxygen mixture is and how potent and dangerous it is, in the hands of amateurs who know little about these things. They cannot foolishly, like some half-baked students, endorse a potential bomb onto the public roads.

Besides, you can commend and encourage knowledge theft, plagiarism and dishonesty among students all you want.
I can't do that as a responsible and sensible adult and congratulate some students for dishonesty and nor should you.
We are talking of moral responsibility and technical excellence in its right place and context here. One should not be blind to these values !!

Indian Science and Technology

Let me first start with the above news!!!!! Lot of people have on congratulated the team in the board for the wow factor involved in the work. Same happened an year back when some mech. engg. students when they claimed that they made a car with 160km/lit petrol milage. If anyone of us can recollect then u can understand the car was an improvised version a bicycle. Thats the technology dudes. Problem in India is our ignorance towards surroundings. Come of out of the well and see where exactly you stand and see where is the world. Come on!! make a proper literature survey from the internet and see what kind of buull sh*t is this work. I am not talking about the ambition but the approach. First of all they did not describe how they split water to hydrogen and oxygen. Did they do it electrically or chemically. How efficient are the individual engincs. I understand the ambitions and enthusiasm of the students involved in the project (atleast one of them might be reading these post for celebrating their victory) but I fail to understand how still their supervisor can be so fooooolish. The reason they omitted the details shows that they did just to make a news and nothing else. Else they should have patent and then came to the news. See this XYZ college I(a scientist in a DST lab) never heard of. In India we have good institutes like IISC and TIFR, some good DAE labs and some good DST labs. Except DAE and DST labs other institutes like IISC and IITs are waste in terms student care

if rediff editors have some sence, they should either employ or hire a good phd student with good record or faculty from a top institute before publishing this kind of bullsh*t news. Just sack the present reporter who made this a news for rediff...

there is a Hydroxy group at YahooGroups which explains the complete details.
The "water car" is nothing new and the kit is available all over the world including India.

The principle is simple electrolysis of water to O and H ions.

This is an instance where it has made news like in past. It remains to be seen whether the vested corporate and political worls allows this to be a reality!!

AS TRULY SAID BY MR.SUNIL WE MUST PLAN PERFECTLY TO POPULARISE THIS KIT WHICH IS USEFUL TO THE MANKIND.LET THEM TAKE THE PATENT/COPYRIGHT INTRODUCE IT IN INTERNATIONAL STANDARD.SHOULDNT BECOME THE VICTIM OF SELFISH POLITICIANS/INDUSTRIALISTS CONSPIRACY .

GREAT JOB
by Saikat Mukherjee on Jul 29, 2009 12:24 PM

Wonderful job. Please try to lower the manufacturing price of the kit as much possible so that nobody thinks twice for using it. Hope we all get the benefit from your hard work.
