The real challenge is
by Shabuddin Kamal on Jul 29, 2009 12:22 PM

It is a great news. congratulation young men!!!Hydrogen is highly combustible element storing it is a big challenge indeed. This will be a real challenge in using these kind of vehicles on the road. The other issue is the compression of the hydrogen. As being one of the lightest element it poses a challenge when it needs to compressed i.e. in other words the amount of hydrogen required verses the pressure required. Only on solving these two problems the hydrogen can be considered as a real fuel of future. Young minds keep working hard!! Best of luck.

This development is and encouragement of those who dream and realise them through hard work.
In this case, even it is done by taking cue from Professor David Milstein and his colleagues works, it is a great work indeed.
Lets promote youngesters and propelling minds, availbale in plenty in India, just like H2O.
They need to be filtered and made usable.
These igniting minds can be of great advantage for tomorrow's India.

Great Job Guys
by Krishna Setty on Jul 29, 2009 12:17 PM

But as rightly said by Mr.Sunil Sheth, 'will this come to reality or remains on paper' is to be seen. Atleast we should be happy that our future generation need not be worried of fossil fuels which are nearing to exhaust.

A water-powered auto rickshaw
by J J on Jul 29, 2009 12:09 PM  | Hide replies

It was already reported in Science Daily April 8, 2009 that Professor David Milstein and his colleagues of the Weizmann Institute’s Organic Chemistry Department have overcome the challenge of splitting water into hydrogen and Oxygen. The team had demonstrated a new mode of bond generation between oxygen atoms and even defined the mechanism by which it takes place. In fact, the generation of oxygen gas by the formation of a bond between two oxygen atoms originating from water molecules that proves to be the bottleneck in the water splitting process.

Students of the RV College of Engineering (RVCE), Bangalore, have taken a cue from these experiments and have developed a water-powered hybrid auto rickshaw. Nevertheless, the venture is commendable. The indeed have developed an efficient catalytic system by creating an alternative energy source.

Checkout "HHO HYDROXY BROWN'S GAS watercar" on Google and Youtube. You'll find 92000 pages!!!
This is a very popular method improved and used by hobbyists. Lot of cars in TN that are fitted with the Coimbatore kit.

It is wrong to claim ownership of somebody elses invention and product.
Coming from a high placed popular college like RVCE is a real SHAME.

FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE BEST OPPORTUNITY. You pupils are not confident still. Perhaps due to this reason the sponsors are not called/ absent. Presentation is not just for RV mates. The whole world is browsing the net.
I had MERRY GO AROUND sick feel while watching and a kind of kids merry yelling. How it works is not described.
WISH Indian RV students better perform considering the world flatform.
Good start -- Regards -- MR Reddy from kay bright consultancy
