books becoming a trend, rather than the experience that they are
by Jaydeep Deshpande on Jul 17, 2009 02:01 PM

Totally agree with Chandrahas's Paulo Cohelo view... he is an over rated author, fuelled mostly by the wannabe MBA brigade, who probably read it just to "belong" to the pseudo intellectual discussions. and then make statements like "life changing" book n all. no book can have that power over you. it may shape your thinking or understanding of the world, but not change your life... it has brought down books like The Fountainhead n likes down to comic book levels. Not that I consider myself an authority on books and philosophy, but it irks me see these books becoming a trend, rather than the experience that they are meant to be.

What an irony ?
by on Jul 12, 2009 09:47 PM

Mr. Choudhury,
I agree that different people have different views; but there is a right way and a wrong way to put it across.
You yourself have said that you always knew that you'd write a book someday. That's why you quit your job, took three years and wrote your book. You did not want to be restricted to your office cubicle. That's exactly what Coelho said in The Alchemist - Follow your heart, listen to your heart, don't just let your dreams remain as dreams.
You listened to your heart and did what you always wanted to do. And yet you say not to read Paulo Coelho Books. What an irony?

rediff quality is getting poorer and cheaper day by day...they can publish any tom -dick -harrys book publicity. I guess the editor has vested interest in this authors book... this guy is hardly competent to comment anything about paulo coehlo or to that matter any author..this guys attracts everybody;s attention by criticizing paulo coehlo...idiot..look at the name of his own book..what a waste

Pavement Freud
Advice to aspiring Mr. Choudhury
by Pavement Freud on Jul 11, 2009 10:56 PM

Mr. Choudhury,

Isn't it ironical that the only highlight of this otherwise lackluster interview *is* Paulo Coelho? Your views about him and thereabouts...It is his name that drew me to reading this piece about you--an aspiring writer yourself.

Maybe *you* can aspire to achieve a fraction of what Coelho has achieved...the dwarf that you are...what rubbish I hear you say?

Insiyah Vahanvaty (whatte name!) I can get you better folks to write about!
