By nature women are nurturers of family whereas men are people who go out, fight and bring the bread home. Unfortunately the current setup is loaded heavily in favor of men that is why they are more successful. How does a man fare when looking after children? I think he is a utter failure. Our money minded society puts a lot of value on ‘productive work’ in other words work that churn money but seems to think women who care about their family are unproductive. What would have happened if these ‘successful’ men were never given birth to by a woman, or thrown away after birth? Where would they be now? Maybe in some mental asylum, or dead.
I am not surprised if women don’t make great bosses. Women are not designed to do that kind of stuff
We should respect the contribution of women to this world, lets not behave like maniacal bad-azzes and only measure women by our own man-made criteria of success
I totally disagree with this surver report... You cant pick up a few hundres and generalise the concept!
Mrs. Indira Gandhi and Benazir Bhutto are tow good examples out of the millions who demonstrated great man management or should I say entire nation management skills to great effect! Till date I have not found a single male PM in India who would even come close to Mrs. Indira Gandhi

definitely it is a male boss almost everyone prefers. Women are short tempered and lose their analytical skills when provoked. Infact they are the worst listeners with no compassion towards their subordinates. Personaly i had worst experience in dealing with woman bosses. They hv huge attitude prob. If they r allowed to steer the ship, they will make it sink in no time.

I very much agree due to my on the job experiences and female bosses do have bad attitudes, go overboard with being in control, are very jealous, and are bullying if you're the soft spoken type and attractive all together!!

Its a merit backed by family/institutional education, the development of brain faculties and environmental situations ! No survey can determine it accurately for another to draw a conclusion! The behaviour and relation varies from person to person !
Why only female, even being male, i would prefer working under a male boss. The reasons of hating a female boss is applicable to both female and male sub-ordinates. The female bosses are really immature, moody and don't understand the real problem. I always had problem to work with a female boss except one occassion.

i too had problem dude!! I think thatswhy Nazi always restricted women working in offices because they also get wrong impression and hitler was a frustrated guy worked under any female boss,lol.
The report is true in case of young women especially when she is less qualified and less experienced than subordinates. Well you might question how can a less qualified and less experienced person be a boss...it happens for various reasons. Immaturity and less experience as well as whimsical feminine emotions and moods can result in a lot of disliking for the person among subordinates which includes women as well. Relatively speaking,young male bosses are more composed and conditioned. However, elderly female bosses are quite supportive, helpful and sympathic as good as any male boss. This is from my personal experience.

This is a good message and clearly reflects that you have spent quite a few years in the corporate sector...
My experience is that in the case of incompetence wherein the subordinate knows more than the boss, men and women react differently...
Male bosses tend to either learn from the subordiante by shedding their ego or go for corporate development programs and upate themselves...this is expecially true in IT..
As far as female bosses are concerned, my experience is that in such a situation where their incompetence is exposed, they tend to become insecure, whimsical and start playing politics....they don't have the capacity to dispassionately analyse their shortcomings and work on them..if at all i have to work under a female boss, i would want her to be fiercely competent!!
If a female boss is competent and good, then she is as professional as any male boss....

I disagree with you Bhasmasur. In my view that is a broad generalisation you are making.
I have been working under female bosses all my life and have never ever been marginalised or felt left out! Female bosses are patient and are very strong administrators!

I think to become a good boss one needs to be effective, initiative, supportive & above all treat everone like we are strategic partners and listens to good ideas and lets the team to run with the ones that have made good case for.
It’s not always true that women are good bosses & always one step ahead. Its all depend on the persons nature and understanding.
There are some arrogant women bosses as well as the ideal women boss who are the directors of well known management college.
It’s true that male can take tough decisions while women are little bit emotional but its absolute false that they hate gossiping.sometimes their lunch time discussion on women colleagues is surprising & shocking. Mainly the Male Boss with home maker partners. It’s a bitter truth.

good, radhika, it does not mean that men are superior than women or vise versa, since men prefers speaking to the point and hate gossiping, and the management is mostly male dominated so they have got the survey in that way. u have not been under any male boss so u don't know how it feels. men are good to take tough decisions at a very rapid pace. where as women are good at P.R.

Women always keep their shortcomings and inadequacies (of all types including physical factors) at the top of their mind. As a result they feel insecure and jealous and go on defensive immediately, get annoyed, throw tantrums and try overpowering the situations. This is just to convince themselves that they are no less than anybody.
