I really didn't expect such a poor show from Rediff. The slideshow feature had no good pictures of the temple. Who can be interested in seeing sweat on a womans back and a tile "After the rain" on it.
Rediff has to improve the quality of content on its portal.
It requires foreigners like Guy Trebey to beautifully capture the great heritage of Tamilnadu. The state has one of the amazing temple architecture built by the Cholas and Pallava kings who ruled here.
TamilNadu's economic growth story is equally spectaular and Chennai has become an ideal base for several of the worlds leading automobile, Banks and Cellphone companies. Add to this, Chennai's success in IT/ITES and you have a robust industry growing rapidly.
The only negatives are the Heat and the attitude of the Autodrivers in the City.

My friend, you may have a point with Delhi, but Mumbai by far has the fairest auto drivers and Cab drivers in the country without an iota of doubt.

Dear friends
Its good to know that chennai is developing fast. But as far as growth rate is concerned tis comes at no. 10 after Surat,Delhi, mumbai, bangalore, vardhman, hydrabgad.
the photographs were disappointing to say the least.so many magnificent temples and such photos.it should have been labelled some pilgrims of the south!

The brahmins have not gone anywhere. They r still in tamil nadu. It is a wrong information that brahmins have left TN. those who live in TN will know dat there are lots of brahmins who are in tamil nadu. if u take chennai, nearly 1/3 of the population is brahmins. No one is complaining. Only a few politicians make some noise about religion (like in ram sethu), dats lika a time pass for them and nobody cares about what these politicians say. otherwise this is a very peaceful state. There has never been an incidence of violence against people from other states or even against brahmins here (though there are lots of people from different states living here). This is just to make the facts clear.

They have all gone on to make a living while the Politik was working wonders with the caste system. Most of them are today in a more liberal economy where they are widely accepted and reverved for their learnings. Now you know what is left in that land they call Tamil Nadu

Now only hard working tamils are left in tamil Nadu. You know that tamilnadu is most developed, urbanised state in India. Guess. I am not any particular community. Every one has equal abilities. Blame the politicians not the people.

It just got me wondering what that LOL meant in your comment. Isn't it a little funny that it could construed in two ways [1] When one is laughing at another persons folly and [2] When one is laughing at his/her own folly (but actually doesnt realize it :))

The reservation is a blessing in disguise, and most of the brahmins of Tamilnadu are well settled around the world and all over INDIA. One man"s loss is another man"s gain. Where as with money power and reservation quota U can get seats, and certificates,. U cannot gain recognition, which is accorded to talent only..

These bramin patriots would rather serve the white man in a foreign country than their own country men whom they have marginalised for years. Some patriotism!

Spot on! Just what the doctor recommended. You know what, my doctor's name is DHR. Iyer and I chose that very carefully, you know why - Simply because I know this person had to be good to get through all the rigmarole of caste based seat sharing etc, which boils down to 2-3 seats for Post Graduation for a meritorious student. So I evaluated that this doc must be good. The beauty is, all the big-shots and loud mouths come to him for health advise while, they shout slogans for increased reservations. I bet not a single polititian will even venture to someone who has passed medicine under a reserved category. Talk about hypocrisy... lol

That speaks about your culture. What people have in their intestines, you have it in abundance in your head. Have it cleaned before it consumes you

Vijay, Alamelu and to whomsoever it may concern. You seem to be letting of your opinions in public freely through this forum (worst on an article that has nothing about reservation)
Ask yourself what have you done about this issue of reservation. I see you people lacking the initiative to fight against reservation. If somebody thinks it is blessing in disguise, what can I say about it.

The very fact that you love parading your caste and that of your doctors DHR Iyer shows what a racist community you belong to! Good you racists are settling down else where!
The slide show about the temples of Tamil Nadu was not as good a s it was expected to be. No one is interested in the pilgrims within the temple. We are interested in the temple towers & the deities. Unfortunately, there were very few of them.
