plz explain what is surcharge and education cess.also what are the other taxable incomes that fall under othe income head.

I am a paid trainee (19 year old) working in a private firm and my annual income is below 50.000.Am I payable to income tax or any tax by the name development tax.Please give me the details.

The article was really excellent one clearing my all doubts relating tax matter...but since then i have one query...



To save Rs 33000 tax how much i need to invest ?



Can u paste one more article relating on investment how much we need to invest and in what to get much more beneificial in tax.

If India has pioneered the tax system and made it so efficient, then how come only 30mn of 1.1bn pay taxes? How are politicians getting away scott-free?
