Pro-poor policies and alround development needed
by Anumakonda JAGADEESH on May 28, 2009 10:02 PM  | Hide replies

In 2008 A study conducted by the National Sample Survey Organisation has revealed that one out of five persons in rural India does not even have the capacity to spend even 12 rupees a day. "The report says that per capita consumption expenditure of 18.7 per cent of the rural population and 4.7 per cent of the urban population in the country is less than Rupees 12 per day. It implies that 16.3 crore people in the country spend less than Rs 12 per day representing 14.7 per cent of the total population," the then Minister for Rural Development Reghuvansh Prasad informed the Lok Sabha. India has vast human resources, which is a great asset. What we need is promotion of Mahatma Gandhi's concept of "Gram Swaraj" and agro industries.People expect a lot from UPA Government under the Chairmanship of Smt.Sonia Gandhiji and Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singhji.I only wish our economy will improve in all fronts under the new UPA Government.

Its Mr Man Mohan Singh's good work that has brought Congress back to power. NONE ELSE.
Long Live our PM. I hope will bring a bill to raise the minimum age for a MP to at least 40 to keep the immature brats away.

I still cannot make out which group stands for performance which one for rhetoric. May be, you too wud not; once you remove your religious blinkers.

These worthies are in power today only because they marketed themselves well and their counterparts in BJP are equally worthless

Sachin there is not at all a comparion among them. none of congis is even near to BJP leaders you mentioned. Everybody in india know why these people were elected. It was more a money power than their own role. Could Navin Chawla ever give a data how money did the congis spent for thi selections. They have flooded money in roads for their win. They have gfiven crores of rupees to the media also. Today nobody will eccept it but this is the truth.

Whatever Soniaji tells is correct. One should work always with the end result in the mind. Either the result should come first before the end of tenure or end will come first if results are not produced.

And let me tell you, BJP is not finished it will come once again like a SPHINX

Grow up sachin. use some mind and do some google before you comment. I do not dounbt on competancy of some of teh ministers, but many of them are within a circle f doubts. Heve you ever seen SM Krishna's thoughts on foregn policy.Do you think he can wisely handel China and Pakistan. Do you think Chddambamram can handle the situation very well. I do not doubt about Jairam Ramesh, Shashi Tharoor, A. Sangamma, and many more but what about Azagiri, A. Raja, Mamta, Farook Abdulla etc.
