Shame on Rediff!!!
by somnath bhowmick on May 26, 2009 02:51 PM  | Hide replies

A deadly cyclone hit West Bengal yesterday killing many people and leaving millions homeless. But, there is almost ZERO coverage of that. If such a natural calamity and devastation cannot find a place in rediff's news update, then may god bless them!

Thanks Mr. Shenoy. For writing such article & carrying out constructive critism of government. NDA had started numerous projects... these psuedo secular congis will never appreciate that... festering thing is these buggers delayed these projects... Golden Quadrilateral is delayed only because of UPA now Mamta joined them so she won't allow land for constructing roads... so MMS govt. should change the route of golden quadrilateral ... it should be built without Bengal..
MMS govt. has enjoyed the growth for which NDA has built the foundation...
MMS govt. should roll their sleeves & spend govt. money to build proper infrastructure so that India will have sustainable growth...

Mr Dravid,
It is not a question of BJP .Take it as a true comment on the working style of Congress.Congress has so many incapable and inefficient people who will not allow the govt to move even MMS wishes to do something better.Everyone knows that he is a slave not empowered to take decision. You cannot Succeed if your are not allowed to select your own team and forced to live up with all iefficient people. It is rightly said by SS that when they will fail these congressmen will start raising old issues like Babri Masjid, Kandhar, Godhra etc.

by jambu jambu on May 26, 2009 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

I think they will decide on the ministry formation and allocation, budget presentation within this period, of course Karuna will also decide within 100 days how much each DMK minister has to cough up to him on monthly basis - to be distributed to his several wifes, children, grandchildren - before he ultimately reaches hellish abode

I have seen the pain of our fellow Indian Marathi farmers in Maharashtra.

I am talking out of disgust at the Congress who has actually helped in increasing the suicide rate.

Deep in their hearts Marathi's want the NDA, thank MNS ( a Congress plant) that they won this way. However, this trick wont work twice, I can see people in Mumbai in a state of shock at the results.

In Maharashtra elections Mumbai like Maharashtra will speak against the Congress.

It's good that Mumbaikar has voted for Cong/ncp otherwise MNS/SS/bjp would have made Mumbaikar eat only Vadapav and Zunkabhakar. Divide and rule and then stroll in the imported cars is the only work they have. Talking of farmers but then themselve aren;t aware whether Potato grows below or above the ground. They are good for running corporation and clean the gutter etc. Mumbaikar are smart enough to understand what they want.

JGN..That is not true, the real voters voted for the BJP/SHS and un fortunately MNS. Add these up and you will see that Congress has not one a single seat.

10 years of Congress rule and we know best what this party is like.

If you have the time, please go visit Vidarbha,Marathwada and see it for yourselves, how these farmers have been marginalized by this evil party.

RG... If he tries anything he will be wiped out. Such is the mood today in Maharashtra, never forget that Maharashtra has always been No. 1 in development, agriculture in all aspects of life, till Gujarat Piped us.
We have 4 good examples surrounding us:
1. Gujarat
2. MP
3. C'Garh
4. Karnataka

Which have progressed immensely under the BJP, this will play very heavily when the voters go to cast their votes.

You are right Mumbaikar. If SS/BJP wouldn't hv to come to power some 10 yrs back, Mahrashtra would have retained it's no-1 position in all the fields. It's ss/bjp who destroyed the economy of state by building flyovers which are now in pathetic condition (due to corruption)

Do you mean, Indian elections results reflect the people mandidate? Its just how much an candidate can spend to buy a vote. This time congress spent lavishly, so that they acquired larger share of vote, while BJP failed to do that at greater level. Don't ever tell that its people mandidate

100 days were for winning!
by dranil on May 26, 2009 02:44 PM

PM went on saying that he needs 100 more days to fulfill the promises made by the UPA government. More than any thing, he wanted the voters to vote UPA again and that is all about it. Now a look at the changed ministeries and dominant partners will tell us that nothing much could be achieved in the so called 100 days. One arrogant, high-profile and dictating minister (Mr. Lallu) is replaced by matching minister (Ms. Mamta) and coincidentally for the same ministry(RAIL). Now the lady is tough to handle and will ensure that economic policies are not implemented as is planned by the PM. Then the DMK family will create situation where the PM will have problems. That will ultimately cause delay in implementation/ taking forward many programs. Finally, we strongly believe that SP and RJD will work from behind the screen and create embarrasing situations for the new government. Finally, the main opposition will keep silence upto 100 days (as it is they have nothing to say/speak about)and are likely to question governments credibility there after. The 100 days program, to people, however is nothing but a poll gimmick to win over the voters and Congress must consider themselves lucky that they actually won!

Mr. Shenoy appears to be in correct way of thinking. Ms. Mamta Banerjee, who has been alloted a Railway Ministry is more interested in State politics. She will not work till her colleaugues are given the oath. Still the Cabinet expansion is undecided. Under this type of situation, how one expect the dead line of 100 days will be met. There should be certain indication leading towards the goal, which does not seen as on date.
