BJP - Lessons learnt?
by Guest on May 23, 2009 05:34 PM  | Hide replies

Vijay Tarun's article highlights what the election results demonstrated. The BJP is out of touch with what was once its key support base - the articulate middle class. The line '... irrelevant happenings like we saw at the Mangalore pub ..' is a case in point. Obviously, the incident was not irrelevant to the BJP's image in the minds of young educated Indians - and it shows.
Religon and even caste, have become less emotive issues today to most urban Indians - one fallout of the changing economic landscape since the 80's.
So, the BJP's root problem is not political, it is ideological.
Tarun refers to Vivekananda, the role-model for many youth of Advani's generation. The BJP would do well to learn from that great persona's focus on youth and how he tirelessly demonstrated the balance of contemporary living with traditional values. Question is - will the BJP learn and offer a geniune national alternative - so important for a thriving democracy.

Congress one because of following reasons:

~ 10 PM one each in every state making India think what mess it would be so better support Congress

~ India is ruled by foreigners who have sent hundreds of retired persons like Manmohan Singh, Montek S Aluwalia, Tharoor etc etc as good faces to rule India and in mask of them looot country to collect money and put in swiss banks

~ These companies rig India Share market, earn and Pay NO TAX to India.

~ BJP candidates are all from RSS cadre, the local country spirited lads and they all won but
where they did not had MP level cadres( politicaly active) they lost . BJP needs to import
candidates like Manmohan Singh etc

~ Congress ater 26/11 failure to act kept all his favorite channels NDTV, CNNIBN, Times etc etc busy with fale TAPES" TALIBAN IS COMING" so much so that its 2 hours away. This gave fear psychosis to Indians and they thought its better to support Congress for their safety., This is how media used by Congress to cover all its sins of corruption, terrorism, undevelopment, education failure.

After elections immediately all telecasts suddenly stopped of Taliban fears /

~ BJP needs to import channels like CNN, NDTV for propaganda who leave no minute to raise Godhra but forget Sikh Riots

~ BJP needs to play Spoilt politics of DIVIDE and rule in congress state as congress divided shiv sena, BJD, Bainwala in Rajasthan

litics like creating parties like MNS, Bainswala ( In Rajasthan Gujjar

Khaled -
Why the article is communal one?
Because it talk of article 370 or because it talks of Kashmiri Pundits?
Talking of Babri will make this article secular or talking of HAJ subsidy?
Not surprised by your comments. one cannot expect anything better from the person belonging to your background/ideology when it comes of national unity, development or integration.

Syama Prasad Mookerjee was a Cabinet Minister in the first Cabinet of free India constituted by Pandit Nehru. He was no communalist! Infact he was a firm Constitutionalist.

Unhappy with the manner in which Nehru was handling Kashmir affair, he quit the Cabinet to organise movment to safeguard Kashmir. Shoring up political defence of India by mobilising the ill-informed Hindu communities while Nehru held the broken fort on the basis of sound equations Sheikh Abdullah was a strategic necessity which was fulfilled.

Else, the history of Kashmir would have been lot different. It is sad indeed that he has been tarred as communalist and not been vindicated yet.

We as a nation need to learn how to honour our heroes.

Hindus Unite!

The defeat of the BJP should shake the Hindus from their perpetual slumber and complacency!

The RSS and Bajrang Dal should take lead in this matter. State level convocations should be held to work out a strategy for revival of parties that support Hinduism.

Perhaps the BJP should merge with RSS and Bajrang Dal.

A lot of dedicated hard work will have to be put in by these organisatins before the stoic Indian masses realise what blunder has been committed by them by voting for the minority appeasing Cong.

The BJP will have to undergo an image change-over that is more acceptable to the younger generation. The morning shakhas need to be made more young people oriented. BJP should take care of Temples and help out those in need. It should set up bases in South India and project a look different from that of mangalore. There is no need to carry out moral policing. BJP must come out with with an econmic policy to create more jobs and reduce poverty. Let the BJP take up muck removal programme in the cities of Delhi and Bombay, to begin with, slowly reaching out to the smaller cities and towns of India.

More Modis and Varuns are needed to take up leadership at District and State levels!

There are many more things which need to be done. It is after such a dedicated effort, that the BJP can hope to come to power in 2014! Good luck BJP!
