Caste and Religion does not matter much in the globalised world. These issues have been limited to the personal choice. It only matters when we here some loud voices on issues related to reservation or during political campaigning, though Election commission has restricted political parties to not use caste or religion as their political plank to attract voters.
Uttar Pradesh has largest number of parliament seats in the country. The major issues in the election is the appeasement of people on the based of caste. It is the main political plank of most parties. Parties’ ally with the different parties on the basis of their strong hold on a specific caste or religion. Many political parties are known for their leaning to a particular caste or religion in the country. Bahujan Samajwadi Party is one of the examples. Mayawati is ruling in UP on the basis of her unique Brahmin-Dalit caste engineering. She won the assembly election on ‘caste programming’ by sweeping 202 seats out of 403 seats

Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh burnt for many days on caste politics of Gujjars. The issue started when BJP promised them to give ST status and after back tracked. Recent assembly elections’ result has shown the Gujjars angst against the party. Many people lost their lives when Gujjars were demanding for their Schedule Tribe status. Gujarat is also an example of caste and religion based politics. Keshu Bhai Patel was the BJP leader before Narendra Modi because he has clout over Patel community, which amount a large section of voters in Gujarat. Narendra Modi replaced him after Godhra mishap, which became a religious issue and many voters voted him to the powe

But didn't they 'maaaro apne paon pe kulhadi' by the infighting between Rajnath, Arun Jaitly, Sudhanshu Mittal etc. Worse, they gave the Rajasthan campaign to Vasundhara, who everyone knew had screwed up big time in her tenure as CM. How could they when she had lost an election for them less than 6 months ago? Face it, their campaign was a non-starter as well as a non-starrer. Even the shotguns and Vinod Khannas are forgotten long ago and we are all sick of Siddhuisms too. Meanwhile Priyanka waltzed into the hearts of the menfolk while Rahul's dimples won over the women. What about Uttaranchal?? The best CM in India is undoubtedly General Khanduri. He is honest has a vision and is development minded. But infighting just ruined every gain of BJP in that state. Face it, the Indian society is filthy and corrupt. The hand is sticking out of the 'keechad' while the body is sunk within it, the elephant is shitting inside it and making it even more mucky and now even the Kamal seems to drowning within it.
Yes. Caste seems loosing its shean in elections. But this is when people were subjected to the fear that nation will go to dogs. When in comortable time thsi caste would again emerge. Unfortunately all poilitical parties keep this in mind that only winnable candidated needs to be cosidered for giving tickets. It is not on the basis of any programme or policies.

In india there is only relegion based politics. Who cares about the cast. Cast based politics is in the Assembly elections only.
MLAs and MPs cannot think beyond themselves, their family and their first circle. how can we imagine to think so broadmindedly. to much to expect from them.........

PMK was pretending to be the saviour of Vanniars in Tamil Nadu and first time its bone was broken by Actor-turned-politician Vijaykant when he won Viruthachalam constituency in Assembly elections, which was in a Vanniar belt. The second blow came when this party was completely rooted. Good by PMK
