AP people are brainless
by Kalyan on May 19, 2009 10:15 AM  | Hide replies

Everybody knows in the world behind satyam computer scam congress party and YSR hand is there. Still people are voted to congress . The way prices are increased and corruption increased in AP under congress government. I am surprised to see once again Raja Shekar reddy is becoming is Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Because of cross votes and distributing Rs.100,200,500 upto Rs.2000/- per vote.

Who are you to call AP people are brainless.AP people have taken a wise decission voting Mr.Reddy eventhough he is not good in some areas. But Mr.Reddy is 1000 times better than selfish, unreliable and use and throw type of charcter candidate like Naidu.AP people also taken a good decission by preventing inexperienced and selfish film star.

by STA BHATT on May 19, 2009 10:11 AM

I am trying to build the company which will build EVM's and as a bonus with the EVM u will get detection free rigging software.

I understand this time Cong got it from Bush and Pals, but next time buy it from me - I will do it at 1/10 of the cost.

Any takers to invest in my company? Chinese agents, CIA, KGB, Taliban ?

This election is rigged by congress by manupaliting EVM . See they systimatically wiped their enemies. Ram vilas paswan, lalu , mulaum, maya, sharat pawar. Defeat of mani shankar iyer is caused by american anger against him. This congress and their slave channels know the results before it accually declared. another american enemy ie communist also got Vanished. This election results are surprised all but Congress.

non of the slave channels predicted anyhing that actully got through. so how can u say that the EVMc were rigged. if that is so then lkaji mah and others are a total failure every where, since they could not point out the rigging. it means apart from sleeping during the parl session, they were also sleeping in following the EVMs.

rising dissent in AP ?????
by Venkat K on May 19, 2009 06:15 AM  | Hide replies

This article is very superficial. Author did not seem to have done enough analysis.

Percentage of Votes Congress got in 2004 election is 38.56 and the percentage of Votes Congress got in 2009 election is 36.53.

Percentage of Votes TDP got in 2004 election is 37.59 and the percentage of votes TDP got in 2009 election is 28.02.

Both have drops in the vote percentages due to new parties in this election like PRP and LokSatta...

But the drop in percentages for TDP is 9.57 where as the drop in percentages for Congress 2.03. So if there is dissent where should it be first? Isn't it in TDP?

Re: Re: rising dissent in AP ?????

Yes you are right. TDP votes are counted only for those 225 seats they contested in 2009. [But remmember, the votes polled for TDP candidates in these 225 seats also include the TRS CPI CPM votes, But still they are counted as for TDP candidate because he is the common candidate]
Also do not forget in the 2009 elections Congress contested in only 234 seats and the votes for Congress are counted only in these 234 seats which also include the then TRS CPI CPM votes] And in that regard, Congress votes in 2004 elections is only 38.56% which is the percentage out of all the total votes polled in 294 consituencies. If you count the percentage of Congress votes only in those 234 consitituencies out of the toal votes polled in these 234 consitituencies ONLY then Congress vote % is 49.10!
So the original percentages I posted are CORRECT and a FAIR comparison.
You can verify the validity of these percentages at the election commission of India website.
So I maiantain my position that TDP lost close to 10% of votes in this election which is a concern for TDP.

What I gave is the party-wise polled votes which is a comparison each and every party uses internally how they fared as a party in the election.
Agreed but for the election result-wise you count the percentages in 2004 election between Congress alliance & TDP-BJP, and in 2009 election between Congress and TDP-alliance. Yes, in 2009 election the difference in percentage of votes polled between Congress & TDP-alliance is about 2%. But this not what I was talking about in the original post.

Friend,

Ask for what you want in telangana like this project here, this industry here..., but not a separate telengana.
I want to see developed and prosperous Telengana in the combined Andhra Pradesh. The election results indicate the same.

LSP will have a strong voice
by Upendra Prasad on May 19, 2009 12:34 AM  | Hide replies

I don't agree with "and the Lok Satta Party with a sole member, will not have much of a voice in the assembly." If by 'voice' you mean cacophony of certain unruly MLAs then the author is right. However, if voice means meaningful and critical opposition then teh 'sole' member of Loksatta Party, Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan will be equal to 100 MLAs. He is articulate, has deep understanding of the problems of the state and possible solution. He is honest , sincere and has plenty of perseverance, patience and humility. It is sad that we have very few like him in the assemblies and parliament. Bet he will certainly make a difference. I am waiting for his speeches in the AP assembly and hope others let him speak.

Absolutely true. One JP is equal to 100 useless, corrupt MLAs of other parties. JP is a tiger and has total clarity on issues. He is a great orator and can make people like CBN or YSR listless when it comes to his knowledge, ability and clarity on issues. Unfortunately in this country, the poor are ignorant but vote and the Educated are Arrogant and dont vote. As long as the educated dont vote, parties like Loksatta under JP cannot progress. Thank God at least, Mr.JP has made it to the Assembly. So we can see atleast ONE MLA who is a real patriot and can do something for the state and country. Our best wishes to Shri JP.

Depsite JP's win his credentials are questionable. Mainly bcos after all that rhetoric on values and money, he chose to give a seat to Vignan's Rattiah!. Rattiah was one of the first persons to procure the EAMCET paper in the mid 1980's and was the architect of the EAMCET paper leak! The EAMCET 1985 was cancelled on this account and had to be rescheduled!
And JP chose to field him.
It is another matter that Rattaiah did not win.

It is too bad that people compared JP to Ralph Nader and Chiru to Obama. JP is not above corruption himself and his choice to come into mainstream politics itself casts doubts on his character and decision making. Ideally TN Seshan was the only civil servant that I have seen who was above petty politics and a man of steel character and integrity. We definitely need people like Seshan and not like JP. He supposedly projects himself as a saint while in fact he is no different from the rest of the Andhra politicians!
