If one reads in depth and in between the lines it is not a stupid article. One need not agree with the views but certainly it has real stuff.
congratulations Mahesh for correctly describing the contemporary Indian TV news. They don't report a news, instead they first produce, then nourish and after that abonden it.
This is a good article, which really brings out the biased reporting of the media- the entire electronic media-hindi and english both. Probably, Sharad Pawar is not glamorous enough for these english speaking, absolutely hollow anchors- save for a few like Prannoy Roy, they would rather prefer a seemingly sauve and sophisticated Rahul or Priyanka- but they never dwelt on why a sharad pawar can actually be a better administrator than a rahul or priyanka - who only have a legacy backing them up. I do not completely agree that Cong won in UP because of Rahul - rather it lost because- Muslims voted en masse for it since SP on boarded Kalyan, BSP was busy deifying mayawati through statues and BJP had diluted its hindutva agenda. The media needs to be responsible- report what is there- dont report what you like. Otherwise how can someone digest the utterly nonsensical hypothesis of Arnav Goswami- the self styled ruler of India- that Telugu Desam Party would support the UPA- either these people are plain idiots and we the elitist middle class like them and hence they continue being idiots or they stage manage it to gain TRPs. But, something is seriously wrong with our media. I donot agree with Mahesh- many people do get influenced by the media- both urban and rural populace.
Sir, hats off to you. You have pulled another jam of a piece. I earlier read your article about Spokespersons for parties acting as Spinmeisters. And I entirely agree with each word written here by you. Thank you for providing these thought-provoking quotes. I hope our media understands it. Hope is little unfortunately.
