It is correct. Lalu competed from 2 seats. He won in Saran and lost in Patliputra.

In 2009 Lok Sabha Election . My fav. MP is Shashi Tharoor . but i didn't know him before the elections. i don't know more abt him but this is sufficient to me know that he able to put up any responcebility on his sholders. I really Proud Like this man alives in My Dear Indian Country.......but by chance i voted to BJP.. Thanks to my god to choose these leaders to lead the Indian Politics... Regards SHIVDUTT SHARMA
Sharad pawar was once a hard core congressman he departed from congress to form NCP only on one basis - he and P A Sangma did not want to accept supremacy of a VIDESHI MADAME !!!!!! And see how much Satta Lalchi he is .... that now the same sharad pawar is ready to work under Guidance of the same Videshi Madame ... Only Satta Lalchi Marathi Manus will do it ....
With 10 MPs he wanted to be PM this is enough to understand how much stupid Sharad Pawar is , PM should be leader of whole country not only for Mumbai-Maharastra... Also during last goverment his total attention was on BCCI/IPL etc he did not care about his ministry. Bcoz he can make more money from BCCI as it is a rich board. It is diifcult to understand why voters couldnt understnd these simple facts.
I thank for all voters for not voting 3rd front,4th front and regional parties for national election. But importance should be given to these parties for their state assembly election so that each state can see a growth. But following shameful things are happening in democracy: 1. First of all, Chidambaram who was declared lost in his constituency in the election, was declared as winner after recounting. Mistakes can happen in manual counting, but how can it happen in EVM? then what is the purpose of having EVM? 2. In virudunagar, no of votes counted were more than number of votes polled, how can it happen? 3. Though Karunanidhi party has done some people welfare scheme,in this election his victory is purely because of money power, muscle power and misusing the govt. My friends has got Free Color TV and 1000rs to 5000rs for each Vote. He has distributed all Free TVs during election time and won the election. Black day for democracy in TN. I am not a supporter of any party but I can surely tell that DMK won because of distributing money. In most of the constituencies they have won less than 25000 votes. Only GOD can help TamilNadu.

Hope the TV was of good quality / brand[with warranty etc...] and not the types you get in Big Bazaar.. :-P. We should look at the positive side.... at least somebody got something as we can expect nothing from these politicians.

i agree fully. Pawar did nothing to Mah. Bansilal did marvel to Haryana and Kairon to Punjab. Kamraj and RV to TN. yes, they did. Even biju did - made a HAL factory in Orissa where even a dog/ crow can noot exist. Lallu made factories in Bihar. what did SC Pawar did in MAH, excepting making his Daughter as MP and proobably a minister this time? The voters are no doubt fools.

Hey! you have wrong information. HAL in Orissa has been existing for decades , noyt just during Biju.

Sharad Pawar indeed is power hungry. But take a look at this cities - Yeola, Satara . They are good looking small towns, agro-industries, local small-scale industries, so that the local people do not have tpo migrate anywhere. But yes, culturally and cosmopolitically not much advancement, so that a town's culture say in Manmad is still the same. However, plenty of opportunity for industry like trucking, engg, so lots of punjabis, gujuratis to be found around.
Now this is what every state should do, so that people do not flock to Mumbai, Chennai, Pune.

Friend, winning an election is not "in all cases" about working or doing something for the electorate or the country. It is about getting your electoral calculations, block, caste and vote bank politics right. Sharad Pawar "once" worked for the sugar belt in Maharashtra and developed Baramati... that is why Supriya Sule won. He will continue to win in the sugar belt for life... that is the fun of Indian politics. Make one good deposit.... you can encash it everytime.
