Everybody who was troublesome for Congress has lost: Left Down 50% Mayawati's BSP: Down 50% (Even though she was expected to do extremely well)
Jayalalitha: Last time 0 this time up, but not much at all, even though expected to do well Laloo & Paswan(Had given Congress only 3 seats): Down 70% Shiromani Akali Dal: Down 50%
Chiranjeevi: Expected to do very well in AP, crushed
On Other hand: AP, Kangress expected to get smashed, sweeps. Kangress needed to get a foothold in UP, Bihar, was unthinkable earlier but again, has happened Kangress needed to crush BJP, whereever they had established a foothold: Orissa, BJD unexpectedly sweeps In Bihar, Nitish gets so much success, it has upset balance between him & BJP. So he will start thinking of ditching them
UPA gets close to majority AND no one suspects that its rigged. Kangressi Channels(NDTV, CNN-IBN) are exact in exit poll predictions, everyone else is wrong (Ha!) Chief Election Commissioner has won it for Kangress. Just like the West-Indian umpire handing cricket series over to Australia.
NET RESULT, inspite of TERROR ATTACKS, PRICE-RISE, MINORITY APPEASEMENT, by putting rubberstamps in all important positions, Kangress has won...
Kangress actually winning in UP. Huh??? Thats a no-brainer.. Thats RIGGINNGGGG

WHAT ABOUT NAVEEN PATTANAIK IN ORISSA WHERE CONGRESS ACHIEVED 3RD MANY PLACE PLACES?
Really Karnataka has strong BJP hold, Godknows who save minorities in Karnataka, Mass killings of minorities may take place like Gujarath- But Some wise from BJP should think about minorites future in KARNATAKA and strong law MUST BE implemented.

He lost. But as soon as "counting agent" knew that his party is coming back to the power, they announced him as winner.

In Karnataka there is no way that BJP can be defeated as we al know hindus are in majority, are hard core hindutva supporters. But whats the use ? Even if BJP had won all the 28 seats there is absolutely no use for the state as the central government is headed by Congress. In national politics communal politics has no place. Communal parties are rejected. The effect of communal disturbaces and women attacks has reached wide across country. Since Karnataka people didnt vote for secular values and went with the BJP which divides people and creates fear in society, it is expected that Karnataka is going to suffer for its wrong verdict. They should have voted for that party which comes to power at center (or a part of ruling government at center) to get maximum benefits. Karnataka people since voted for BJP will prove to be a useless thinking on behalf of electorate and they have to suffer for it. UPA should not help Karnataka as any help will be used for doing violence and they will never vote for Congress.

Congress is fooling people in the name of Secular, every one in Karnataka knows that, people of karnataka are wise, they know these congress people are only accumulating personal wealth rather then developement, Both Oscar and Margret have accumulated enough wealth by bowing down their head to according to them Saint Sonia, on the TV and see how Oscar Fernandes Bows 90degrees to Saint Sonia Gandhi looks so cheap, they go any extent, a useless politician only capable of polishing shoes, what can we expect from congress unless there is a complete new set up, it will only be a congress dream to come to power again in Karnataka

Karnataka the congress candidates fielded very old and useless or loosers in their own right, like Margret Alva, who has a Hatrick of loses, has not done anything for the state, she has done more for her personal welfare then the state,Karnataka was under congress rule once, even a dog under congress would win, but people like Oscar Fernandes who have won so many times have neglected the development in there respective constituencies, so inspite of all attacks etc, people are educated and they know voting congress is a waste no developement, only promises, so they didn't have a choice and stuck to BJP,who has done well in the past in the center when they were there and hoping that Yeddi will do well as he still has the time

Rum Whisky what you say is correct but a strong oppostion should have brought best from the congress as it did in the center.

UPA has won the elections. Respect the peoples' verdict. Now Congress should do a thorough home work before finalizing the cabinet. It should induct new faces like Rahul Gandhi, Jyothiraditya Sindhya, Milind Deora in the cabinet. It should keep away spenthorses like Pranab Mukherji, Chidambaram, Arjun Singh, Sharad Pawar, Kamal Nath, Anant Sharma, Vayalar Ravi, A.K. Antony etc.Manmohan Singh can lead the team of youngsters with ease. If they induct the old men, they are going to dig their own grave by committing the earlier mistakes. Home Ministry should be kept with the P.M. Karunanidhi may bargain for ministerial berths for his kith and kin. Never mind tell the old man this time it is not possible and Congress need not get under the pressure. Give DMK and Trinamool State Ministerial berths. It is better to get the support from independents and offer them Cabinet posts than doling out favours to the regional parties. It depends how the Congress decides. Remember if Congress wants Rahul Gandhi the next PM, it should take bold steps and put the regional party alliance partners in the right place. Clean Politics, if that is what Rahul Gandhi wants for India, he should take a serious responsibility in steering the party from the organizational glut NOW. I wish him all success.
Re: UPA Has Won But Can it Deliver?
by Ramakrishnaraju on May 17, 2009 12:59 PM
Yes, I agree your viewpoints. DMK will extract maximum possible with plump postings and they will be given authority to loot the country for another five years and many of the Ministerial posting will be given only to his kith and kin and if there is no other alternative, they will go for other than his family members. God only can save Tamil Nadu.
Sudhakaran Nedumpillil could be little more huble. Both congress & bjp r same so this communal & secular business is only to fool the elctrote. It is very good that regional parties and other bit players have been maginalised. The best thing which has happened it that this govt does not need support of the left.Mayawati,DeveGauda & to some extent Pawar has must have got the right message.Best of luck for Manmohan Singh
BJP failed to understand India and her core values and her strength. India is so vast and diverse that any single ideology or principle wont sell. People are wise to make their choice and this election has proved this fact once more. India by nature is secular, democratic and believes in inclusive nature of policies-development-administration-culture. If you forget this fact then you are a hypocrite and looser.
