Congress would have realized how important to listen to the sentiments of the people. It should atleast work with IC (International community) and demand tamil ealam by negotiating in peaceful way. Else Tamilnadu will never remain nuetral.

1. VIjayakanth's DDMK split the votes, which worked against the favour of AIADMK 2. Selection of Communal candidates would have worked against AIADMK & PMK 3. Money & Power influenced the voters - No doubt with the support of authorities. 4. Jayalalitha's inability to capitalize on the incumbancy / pro-tamil factor. She should have roped in SEEMAN & CO to target DMK.
If AIADMK had worked on the above factors, it would have made a complete sweep.

It is a simple case of arthmetics- Congress is a valuable alliance partner although it cannot win on it's own. ADMK did remarkably well despite not having COngress and having unpopular Communists as allies.
