Tamil Nadu people rejected Sri Lankan issue barking
by Manian Vasudevan on May 16, 2009 03:32 PM  | Hide replies

The people of Tamil Nadu have clearly rejected the rhetorinc raised in favour of the terrorists LTTE. If what the so called film personalities are correct, how come that the more veriferous supporters of the terrorists LTTE, like PMK and MDMD fared very badly? It is a clear indications that the people of Tamil Nadu wanted to throw away who support the terrorists LTTE.

The possible reason for Congress losing in this election in Tamil Nadu, could the the statements made by Rahul Gandhi juse days ahead of polling in Tamil Nadu, dampening the enthusiasm of the alliance partner DMK, by favouring AIADMK. The cogress loss has nothing to do with the supporters of terrorists LTTE

I am so shocked and sad to know that Mr.Vaiko lost his election in virudhu nagar, I cannot believe this, money and selfishness has blinded tamil voters and tamils have failed to appreciate and realise a true tamil spirited person like vaiko, he is one of the greatest orators that tamil has seen, his loss is loss for tamils like and the loss for eelam.

I am truly sad for vaiko.
I cannot believe tamil people voting for congress when they hunt down tamils in eelam, india is truly a most corrupted democracy, they have even hacked the electronic voting machines....money has taken over and has blinded people from seeing the best for a true india that respects people of all races, its golddigging for the italianwhor...there is no god.

Mr. manikkam anand, need some sense, after the failiure every body says this. I can strongly say people of Tamil nadu realised the double standard of Your AMMA Jayalalitha, for alliance she wanted to go with the winning party, to dislodge Karunanidhi, He may not be a very good politician, still people voted against the double standard of Jayalalitha. Today after seeing the result CNN-IBN asked this question to Mr. CHO, he also said your answer "money", ! Then the reporter said or asked "one or two seats can be won may be with the money as you said, but winning this many seats shows that is the real winn.

Death of India is a certainity
by Prabakar on May 16, 2009 03:27 PM

during independence our population was 250 million, now it's 1.1 billion and growing. There are so many people who are starving and living in desperation. Instead of those govering this ancient nation take serious action to wipe out the tears and suffering of the ever growing masses, they are just allowing them to multiply their woes even more by fooling them by false propaganda , promises and handout of a few 100 rupees during elections: but give a damn after coming to power. I live in Australia and I see desprate indians coming here by selling their property and savings to do some menial course in some college and do anthing to stay here to get permanent residency. Such is their desperation. Sonia has made her billions and so have many other so called leaders of the nation. I am glad that I am not in that nation when it drowns into anarchy within the next decade. Lots of people are going to die in the process. Democracy is not suited for a nation like india, but Indains fool themselves. The enviornemnt is polluted beyond point of no return and water scarcity is going to be a big problem in years to come. No problem for the politicians, who will loot the nation; only the poor ignorant masses & educated unemployed who have to struggle for an existence.WHAT A SHAME

For me PMK is a violent force who got OBC status by cutting down trees. I'm not disputing OBC status but the violent methods they employed. They need to have a broader outlook leaving alone casteist aspiration

I dont agree with your Vanniya-Thevar supremacy theory. Caste based politics may be popular in some of the less developed states in india, but not in TN. Tamils think beyond caste and we have moslty stopped using caste name as surnames. I'm very glad, caste vote bank didnt work for PMK.

Cho's so called political magazine doesnt even sell 50000 and he is projected by few casteist elements as a political analyst. He has no standing in Tamilnadu.

Becker

Your first mail was against violence and cutting trees - I am fully with you there.

I have been an objective follower of Cho last few decades. I think he is an objective and fearless critic from Indira Gandhi days. I think he strives to say the truth irrespective of party or personality that very very few in political journalism or politics are seen doing. We should not bring caste into this.

I think, right thinking people like you, should help the society to get over this caste issue by not allowing it get mixed up with real issues.
