Fractured Mandate, Indecisive Vote
by S Shrikanth on May 16, 2009 02:10 PM

UPA will form a Govt with fractured mandate. Congress will get around 190 seats and will remain dependent on 95 seats of other parties like SP(MSY) and Lalu etc. They also will have a highly volatile Mamta Bannerjee who will definitely would ask for moon.Nobody knows when she will become a liability.

The voter has voted to continue to existing regime, but have not given absolute power and misuse it. The Voter although given them another chance, but with a strong warning.

The Leftists lost their character when they supported UPA Govt and their comrades enjoyed power for 4 years.

The voter has not defeated BJP, it will have 10-15 seats lesser than 2004. They voter feels that a powerful BJP is required in the country. The loss of some key allies costed BJP dearly.

The good thing about this election is that regional blackmailers like Lalu, Paswan, CB Naidu, Jayalalitha have been shown the way.

A wrong side of the election has been that the middle/salaried class, as usual, did not come out of houses to vote. They will pay the price for this for the next 5 years.

The voter has rejected UPA's economic policies, P Chidambaram has been defeated.

The darkest side of the election is - The PM shied away contesting Lok Sabha Elections.

Modi is still victorious in gujrat. Under Modi gujrat hass achieved the number 1 status in India. People of gujrat are smart enough to chose Development over fake secularism.

A good achievement.
by BishwaNath Singh on May 16, 2009 02:03 PM  | Hide replies

The NDA must accept this unceremonial defeat gracefully & whole heartedly and support national issues pursued by UPA lead Union Govt. The credit goes for ceremonial victory of Congress Party to Mrs.Sonia Gandhi, Chair person of Congress Party, Dr.Man Mohan Singh, Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, General Secretary of Congress Party, Priyanka Gandhi & all leaders of all ranks & files who strived hard in electioneering without whose active participation, it would not have been possible. We must caution all political leaders of all parties to sink their political differences of narrow considerations & strive hard to take our motherland on the path of all round progress & development.

Half Italian and More Indian?? Are you taling

Are you talking about Manmohan Singh is a Paki because he was born in Pak and migrated to India post independence?

Yes, 76 year old Manmohan Singh was born on 26 September, 1932, in Gah, Punjab (now in Chakwal District, Pakistan) into a Sikh Kukhran Khatri family. After the Partition of India, he migrated to Amritsar.

Though not ..
by Sunil Kumar on May 16, 2009 01:58 PM

Though the agressive NDA should have been in the driver's seat at the present time, I think it is fortune of the nation that has brought UPA back to power. All happens for the best. There is something hidden in the country's fortune that wants the country to low lie for some years as the neighbors would have taken the opportunity to promote more terrorism and unrest in the country citing that BJP is communal and what not and would have diverted the attention of unrest in the country.

BJP should build a new image of itself as thinking of nation building rather than what is projected of it today. Five years is a long time and I think BJP has enough time to concentrate on real issues and real problems at hand.

They can as well behave as an healthy opposition by showing their intentions on issues of national interest.

Congrats for UPA and all the best for NDA (BJP ) for the future.
