Advaniji, a close associate of my late uncle, Shankarla of Sardrashahar should have followed Nanaji Deshmukh and BJP should introspect. Projecting old Advani as PM in young voters country was a mistake –in fact even projecting any one as PM does not fit in its ideological gambit. BJP minus Vajapayee still has saved its face though a healthy Vajpayee could have helped BJP. Whether anyone in BJP liked him or not, the trait of his leadership, the softness in articulating things need inculcated if BJP is to revive again to throne. Hard-hitting hardliners will not have long lasting impact on Indian mind though one need not to be apologetic being promoting a Hindu party if Germany can have a Christian Democratic Party why not BJP can have that role. ‘Psueudo-secularism’ in BJP’s own cult had crept that was the cause of erosion in mass but more important was the lavish behaviour of BJP leaders. The ‘dynasty rule’ BJP has been criticizing, itself been a victim of that. Country is not a state that one CM of Guarat or other could be projected as national leader. BJP needs evolving national readers, not the group of regional feudal. That is the cause of loosing in Rajasthan. Removal of Uma Bharati whether one likes her or not her removal after Hubli flag case was not good. If Advaniji himself was reinstated after Hawala case then why not she? Her outspokenness should have been treated by seniors like Atal-Advani as a pampered daughter’s

Not only Uma, but Kalyan Singh as well. BJP cannot afford to wither its soldiers. Also, Siva Sena should have patched up with MNS. At least now, BJP should wake up and start working towards the next election !!

Sir, I was not following BJP closely at all except during the last 5 years. It is a fact that Mr. Advani is known all over India (other than Mr. Vajpayee) whereas Mr. Rajnath Singh, though BJP President is known only in the Hindi cow-belt, and not in other parts of the country, thus lacking in mass appeal also. Mr. Rajnath is not much articulate, and even late Mr.Pramod Mahajan was known in many parts of the country and more articulate. In the present BJP set-up, I may be wrong, only a candidate like Ms. Sushma Swaraj can fill the gap (if Mr. Modi is excluded)and she can woo the women voters also in substantial numbers given not only her charisma but equal fluency & articulation in both English & Hindi (and to some extent, Kannada). Talking about the last 5 years, somehow a feeling/lurking fear has been generated in the minds of Hindus, though still majority in numbers, being treated as a minority as in other parts of the world; and, the presence of RSS/BJP was the only solace.
Further, somehow I have a lurking doubt whether Mr. Modi has more opposition within his own party than even in other parties!

India doesn't need old folks anymore. Advani is way too old to represent a young vibrant India. With all respect, Advaniji, its high time you gave up the helm of party of party affairs to somebody else and sit back and relax gracefully. It is not as easy as you think to be the PM of huge nation. You are not as STRONG as Mr. Singh. Oh btw how would you know that, right ! you never got the oppurtunity and I guess never will....
