Rejected Advani
by Freemason on May 16, 2009 08:56 PM  | Hide replies

The reason why BJP lost is because of Advani. People have not rejected BJP but Advani. He does not inspire confidence. BJP needs a new leader - somebody dynamic (not even Modi).

Secondly, most hindus will support BJP but only a moderate BJP. The kind of things that Bajrang Dal does or sree ram sena does will not appeal to the vast majority of hindus. BJP must disassociate itself from these parasites. Being pro-hindu does not mean being anti muslim or anti christian. Most Hindus only want an imbalance corrected but no communal violence or tension. BJP succeeded only when a moderate was the head of the party (Vajpayee).

BJP needs a new dynamic leader, preferably someone young in tune with the pulse of the new generation. BJP must stop the taliban activity of Bajrang Dal etc.

Advaniji, we feel sorry for you...

.We know you are a good man at heart and were keen to leave politics on a resounding note. Some where the script went wrong. With all humility let me help you find where the script went wrong:

a) The election issues BJP chose had no
relevance to the common man. Ram mandir,
Swiss money, etc. The common man already
has his own worries, not to worry add'ly
about whether Ram mandir comes up or not,
when he is not sure of eating two square
meals a day.
b) You start like Obama's was impressive
but thereafter you drifted away into nega-
tive campaigning. If you looked at Obama's
presentations, he took each issue, step by
step, like job creations,healthcare,economy
Iraq, Afghanistan and for each one, he said
this is where we feel the present govern-
ment is going wrong and this is what we
will do to do a better job of it, to buy
people's trust. Every sentence he talked,
he talked on a point relevant to the voter.
This is where we feel you went horribly
wrong.
c) Not once did Obama directly attack Bush and
hence his campaign looked respectable. In-
stead you went hammer and tongs after Dr.
MM Singh and earned the nation's wrath esp.
when he had just come out of an ICU. This
created more sympathy for Dr. Singh.
d) Lastly, after Babri Masjid,Godhra & Malegaon
the common man visualizes BJP as a symbol
of polarization & destruction. You need to
correct this asap.

A few add'l thoughts, Advaniji..

Whenever big US MNCs bid for large proj-ects, they have a ready checklist of all factors that can go wrong in that deal to make them lose that deal. As a first step, they start neutralizing such dis-advantages.

Before submitting any large value bid, they make this due diligence process to make sure, for the present bid, all bases are covered and nothing can go wrong.

For elections too, you & BJP may want to adopt this approach in future. Obviously, for each state, the factors that can go wrong will be different. But you can avoid this hit or miss approach.

What bjp should be doing
by Anand on May 16, 2009 07:30 PM

bjp thought that they have around 150 seats with them and they can garner the balance with other parties. Basically bjp is not building its base. And that too where they are not even present they are not doing anything so that they can get some seats. they feel like comfortable getting 150 seats. during the time of vajpayee that was considered good because of his stature not now when advani is at top. Both are different personalities and getting backing from other parties may not be the same. They have just not improved which they should now. rather than focussing sitting in delhi and focussing on only national issues they should go deep into the villages and build bases for next election.

They should start working on what they are stronger. ie uniting all the hindus, sikhs etc and should not mind for christians and muslim votes. By going towards muslim and christian voters they are losing hindu votes and their core idealogy. They shoud go back to their core ideology and start winning.
