agree with all cho said except one......
by Kumaraswamy Pillay on May 12, 2009 02:48 AM  | Hide replies

Cho's views in this interview is quite balanced. I agree with all he said except him saying that Rahul Gandhi is quite balanced in his views. That amazes me. It might be possible that as an experienced political observer Cho sees something which i might be missing. But his untimely attack on Narendra Modi during last Gujarat election, his wooing Nitish Kumar, when Nitish doesnt even give a shit to congress, his praising Manmohan Singh as a pride of Punjab (if that is the case then why Manmohan cant fight Loksabha election from Punjab) and his attack on Advani for handling Kandahar (when 1000 family members of flight passengers sit in front of PM's house on a fast with international media live broadcasting it all over the world then what will the govt. do?) with out mentioning what he would have done to solve it and his repeated attack on modi like a broken tape recorder for 2001 without ever commenting on the progress in gujarat.... i can keep on mentioning events. Leave alone balance i wonder if Rahul Gandhi even has a self opinion on any of the national issues. He is like a "chicken without head" who comments on issues without thinking about it and realizing his folly later type guy who is good at catching his mother's pallu and going around. Poor, sycophantic loser congressis can praise him as much as they like but the reality is that he can at the best become a model but forget about becoming PM of a complex country like india.

even the dimunitive MMS cannot be faulted for his honesty. but as a projected future PM candidate, the nomination papers of Rahul reveals his dishonesty and unwillingness to face the truth. Rahul is fit to be only a corporation councillor where his dishonesty would affect only a small percentage of public in India.

you all are just biased on him.. you just find words about Rahul to criticize.. same ev one is doing in all forums.. do you think ev one in BJP is a chicken with head ? NM is national hero with massacare in gujrat. yet i appreciate him for his development but running single state gujrat and running 27 states as whole india is different. well i m just not in any party favour in india whether BJP, cong or 3rd fron. All have their own shortcomings however I would like to see a governtment of young ppl like Rahul, varun and other young politicians and let them gain soem experience. Looks a difficult taks but then only India will get rid from old and sick politicians..

Nobody would have a problem with Rahul as PM if he proves his merit. The thing that i pointed out merely is that he has no views of his own, no political qualifications except that he is the grandson of indra gandhi and great grandson of Nehru. Why doesnt he work like someone like modi and comeup in the congress party on his own. Why should he become general seceratary just because his mom told he should be. Till date i havent seen a single statement worth considering from him. He accused his teachers from st.stephens in delhi of being biased and not of good quality(a very meritorious reputed college) and got egg thrown very next day in his face. All the teachers and his classmates cameout saying prince rahul never used to attend class and discontinued after two years. What do you make of such a man. I stand by my word that he is nothing worth considering (let alone as prime minister of this country) until he does something worth considering like Modi. I think to compare modi with rahul is like comparing an ant with mountain. Modi is a genuine people leader with proven achievements behind him and rahul is a mere novice with nothing but mothers pallu to show behind him. Amen!!!!

I think that is the straight answer and well said. I am surprised even educated people are not thinking properly and they are carried away by emotions. Mr. Narendra Modi is the answer to India's woes. He should become the P.M.

Narendra Modi became CM by step by step.He is among people.Rahul is a prince.India is owned by his Bapp.Or like that he is behaving.Congress has so many leaders who worked for so many years.Even then Mummy sonia has appointe him as the General secretary and Mummy may appoint him as the PM also. After all Bharath is his Bapp.

Cho Ramaswamy opened a new thought!
by Biman Basu on May 12, 2009 02:40 AM  | Hide replies

It was being discusseed among voters but vaugely!Cho made a formula !
Pundits tookthe clue and made a complete forecast and its interesting!
The expert observer hinted -
BJP getting below 150 seats ---- communal,
.............150 - 170 seats --- swing in between,
..............170 &above say 190 ..secular (mild),
..............190 - 220 ......secular (but
tendency of
shifting),
.............. 220 - 250 .secular ( with affinity
to nonsecular)
''''''''''''''''250 -270 secular with slight touch
of non secular
................271 - 300 secular but positively on
own merit as non secular,
.............. 301 - any (secular ) surely non
secular!
The pundits say the tag od 'communal' will never leave BJP because SOMEBODY BROUGHT THE IDEA OF SECULARISM NOT KNOWING ITS MEANING!AND NEVER PROPERLY FOLLOWED!
What a democracy!

Native Dravid language
by D S on May 12, 2009 01:13 AM

It is quite possible that Maori could be true dravidian language spoken before sanskritized dialect called Tamil was claimed as native.

Diyari Australian Aboriginal languages, like Maori over the last 200 years, became minority languages in a Neo-Europe dominated by the English language.

Tamil is sanskritized though it is not accepted quite like Fijian that is English dominated and it's written existense happens due to English.

Would you have liked Talibanis to insult the honour of Indian....

...women , who were trapped as hostages in Khandhahar?

Every sane Indian would have released the Taliban prisoner Afzal, in exchange for the hostages, that included 78 women and children.

Today Rahulji Ganghiji, has said that Advani & Bajpai were weak in releasinf Afzal. I say Rahul Gandhi prefers to score political points at the exchange of Hindu women and children.

Cho, Brahmins and castes in TN
by mira on May 12, 2009 12:13 AM  | Hide replies

Brahmins in Tamil Nadu are no more castiest - it is castes such as Thevars, Vanniyars, Reddiars, etc., who are totally castiest. Brahminbs do not depend on any Government jobs - you will not find them begging for government jobs. You will also not find them unemployed and registering under 'unemployed graduates' list. Brahmins have moved on beyond castes. However, the other communities are still wallowing in caste feelings. It is really disappointing.

Very good statement
by theindialover on May 12, 2009 12:10 AM  | Hide replies

This guy is down to the issue all the time. He said it is right. 150 mark decides whether politically BJP is secular or not. All these parties who sing secular slogan will go behind BJP if it go above 150 which is probably the best case.

It's so pathetic that our media and politicians defin secularism based on how you appease towards Muslim or Christian in this country.

It's ok to kill sikhs..... you will still be secular. It's ok to kill poor muslims in Nandigram by communists you still look secular.

DEFINING THE TRUE INDIAN
by kedem kemorah on May 11, 2009 11:03 PM Permalink | Hide replies

One of the oft repeated television advertisements by the Congress presents a man declaring — “Na main Hindu hoon, na main Mussalman, na Sikh, na Ishai, main ek Bhartiya hoon (neither am I a Hindu, nor a Muslim, nor a Sikh nor a Christian. I am an Indian).” Does this mean a religious Eendu, a devout Mos$lim, a pious $ikh or churchgoing Khristian cannot be a proud Indian too? Does it also mean that to be a true Indian you have to be an atheist or a man without religion? Why does the Congress think there is a difference between a true Indian and a religious Indian? In that case the red vermillion pastes that Mrs SG and Rahul publicly sport on their foreheads and Manmohan’s widely publicized visits to gurdwaras all efforts to fool the Indian public? Aren't all sickular persons hypocrites? Any further proofs required?
