election is conducted on religious basis, not on caste basis. some religious minority make it as a vote bank issue. Caste issue is balloned up by a certain religion for counversion. But after counversion they are treated worse than a slave.

Courtsey JNU backed monopolistic pro commie/congi media likes of Dipankar are leading a fantastic life style by serving his political masters

No constituency in India can be won on caste grounds
by Shekhar on May 05, 2009 07:25 PM

Professor has analysed certain issues correctly. He rightly said for Parliament election atleast no seat can be won on the basis of caste unless there is a mass emotional movement.Another point he mentioned is there is no trained work force & rather no state govt is taking initiative in developing the same. The I T advantage we have got is by fluke & it may not sustain for long as other countries are also trying to copy us.Narsimha Rao established Navodaya Vidyalayas.None of our present polititians have a programme of training our youth and empowering them economicaly.Every polititian want to retain the youth as their flag carriers & keep them below poverty line.

I'm born and brought in Gujarat and seen the progress of my state with my own eyes. It looks like that writer has got hefty payment to write on Mr Modi. Modi has turned Gujarat in to a "Developed" state... why the writer's own WB is till in 18th century.
Dipankar - Pl look at your own state and do something for the growth of your own neighborhood...

He may be surfing congress website and gathering information regularly and even from BJP.

Then put some spice and saying that is his report....

I think all the politicians should also has to sign the KRA and they should be analysed every year.

Just a thought....

Modi has not turned Gujarat into a deveelpoed state. It was already a developed state. And Delhi is his state and not West Bengal. and he has pointed out how Jyoti Basu used Bengali sentiment the same way Modi is whipping up Gujarati sentiment.

this authors arguments are based on facts garnered through a myopic view.modi is being spoken about as a good pm candidat even in the south who are fed up with terrorism.why do the muslms feel secure with govts. run by the so called secular parties when their economic condition has only worsened.the caste factor is strong in places where education has not reached the masses . surely now people are asking for development that is why we see whole villages boycotting polls. one village boycoted polls even in madam gandhis constituency.the less said about sheela bhatts views the better.

Terrosrism? Who is bothered about it, even in the North , let alone South? If they were would Congress have won in Delhi and Rajasthan immediately after 26/11? People are bothered more about roji roti. Dipankar has got it right.

If he is the best what else do you expect him to say? He has crticised the Congress for not delivering the basics. Unfortunately Mr. Advani doesn't talk about these issues, but talks about terrorism, which people even in Mumbai are not bothered about.

People care about these. Not terrorism. How is villager in Orisssa or Maharastra bothered about 26/11. He knows he is going to die from malnutrition and untreated disease rather tan terrorism.
