Sheela Bhatt has drawn her conclusions after taking a look "at the politically important cases that the agency has handled and mishandled over the years." Actually, CBI is "subservient to the dictates" of anyone who has the means to control the actions of "Government of India". Often, the "means" are foreign agencies that have a strong presence in India and their representatives. For example, CBI (as also internal audit), in late 2000, had detected FRAUD in the purchases of computers and IT equipment by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and filed a case against then ICAR DG and some other officials and scientists. The then agriculture minister, Nitish Kumar, put the DG on "compulsory wait" pending completion of the inquiry. The DG, however, managed to get several powerful persons -- including a former DG of ICAR and Dr Norman Borlaug -- to intercede on his behalf as "extra-constitutional authorities". A brigade of the DG’s accomplices and subordinates also came to his aid, with "signature campaigns" and public protests. The World Bank representative in India stated to the Press that there was nothing wrong in the purchase procedures. The DG was reinstated in no time at all, and the Minister was forced to resign. CBI was 'persuaded' to give a "clean chit" to the culprits. The "whistleblower" in the case was severely persecuted.

Ironically, the CBI inquiry itself was initiated on the recommendations of the Central Vigilance Commission, to whom the whistleblower had initially presented the case. In effect, the CVC acted unwittingly as an agent provocateur. The moral of the story: WHISTLEBLOWERS, BEWARE! YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TO LOSE AND NOTHING TO GAIN. GET PSYCHIATRIC HELP TO RID YOURSELF OF THE SELF-DESTRUCTIVE TENDENCIES.

I think people have heard the name of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Bofor’s case is the classical case. CBI went around the world for 10 plus years! Spent more than 400 crores. In Delhi HC, Sonia, Hindujas and all accused were acquitted with a stinging remarks on CBI and its waste of public money!!! This judgment is a classic case of black coat fraud in the name of justice! The justice had a post ready for him created by Sheila Dixit after retirement!!! Nithari killings handled by CBI is another case! Here rich and powerful Moninder Singh is not the main culprit, but his servant Kohli is the real culprit! Poor parents, who had their daughters and sisters raped and killed for pleasures! Sanjeev Nanda case is still going on!!! If one does not want to get any result, just make investigations by press leaks or harass any one, give the case to CBI. CBI sleuths and judges will see to it that nothing comes out of the now all familiar dramas! Well CBI has the acronyms Corruption Bureau of Investigation or Congress Bureau of Investigation.
Politicians are the only bunch of people who share their earnings with public during elections. Can you show any other class of people who do this way. Dont blame politicians

Khadir , people like us are not public figures. We do not represent the public hence the public need not know details of our earnings. Politians are public figures who represent the public hence the need to declare earnings.

Khadir...it is a good point made...if any body had asked u and me to share our wealth, we would not have done it...so, it a good way of distribution...but, what comes of it is really bad...

Where the hell do their earnings come from? Taxes you and I pay. Effectively they are returning public mony back to them thats all. Catch a politician sharing! What a joke!
you can manage anything with CBI. courts and congress men shouting for cbi inquiry in all and sundry shows that they can either close any case or open any case and punish any persons. you should see the results in the court convictions are so rare that cbi is only being used as a puppet by congress eversince the act came into play.

Does it mean CBI should let off Mulayam and allow Congress to let off Tytler, Quattrochi, etc?

Your basic assumption is faulty. we don't have politicians but political managers whose sole objective is wealh creation. they are so good at it that they put likes of Mittals and Ambanis to shame.

The said investigation agency has lost their credibility at all. The Special Police Establishment Act should be abandonned immediately, under which, the said Agency has been established.

These types of terrorists and anti-nationalist CBI Officials and the alleged Attorney Journal, should be prosecuted in N.S.A. As, they are solely agents of Congress Bureau of India.
The messages being displayed under an article should be relevant to the topic being discussed. Look at those below, you will find several irrelevant messages published. Nonsense! Mr/Ms Moderator, what are you doing? In slumber?
Re: Why irrelevant messages?

I second your view. More often then not people seem to share rubbish thus diluting the intensity of any such discussion. Relevance is a very important componenet in getting to some kind of a consensus. Be serious guys!

WHat u will tell about it?
New Delhi: The minorities in Pakistan's Swat Valley have been forced to flee as the Taliban have imposed a tax on non-Muslims, Pakistan Catholic Bishops' Conference (PCBC) president Archbishop Lawrence John Saldanha has said, urging the Pakistani president and prime minister to intervene.
Expressing concern over the government's move to allow the imposition of Sharia laws in parts of the North West Frontier Province, the archbishop said in his letter to the Pakistani leaders: 'We note with sorrow that your government has failed to take stock of the concerns of civil society in Pakistan in your decision.
'Christian, Hindu and Sikh families have been forced to flee because the Taliban imposed on them Jizia, a tax levied on non-Muslims living under Islamic rule,' he said.
The archbishop's letter was released here by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI).
After parliament had approved the measure, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari April 13 signed the notification for enforcing Sharia laws in Swat and six other districts of the NWFP that are collectively known as the Malakand division.
'Besides jeopardising the socio-economic and cultural growth in Swat and Malakand, the decision has also given legal sanction to the diktats of the trigger-happy Taliban,' the archbishop's letter said.
The resolution 'erodes constitutional protections for minorities and women,' Saldanha, who is the archbishop of Lahore, said in the letter.
