Great Interveiw

After Mr.Seshan, we found another CEC who showed the guts to act and act with confidence. We are honored to have you as our CEC. Why don't you consider joining hands with Mr.T.N.Seshan and run for office. You could clean up the system better than these messy politicians.

Goodluck Sir with propogation of Sanskrit. Now can we bring back our libraries from Germany for good.

Seshan and Gopalswami are poles apart. While Seshan acted with confidence to uphold the office of CEC by being truly impartial, Gopalswami merely acted with confidence as an agent for the BJP. Gopalswami would have retired unheard if not for his recent tantrums - he chose the timing wisely to get himself into the good books of his caste and fortify his position in his party.

Go and ask any IAS(including seshan) or IPS officer about Gopalswami. He will immediately tell you about his impeccable track record. Btw, the timing thing that you have mentioned has no merit now. Please update yourself with latest news

Seshan and this man are poles apart. Seshan for all his straight forwardness was a ego maniac. He for all that he did and acheived greatness as a CEC, after retiring contested an election on BJP ticket. wanted to contest Presidential election and expected CONgress to support and later asked BJP for support. This man will do do such things. Looks like you either have a short memory or have just joined political blogging.

At the same time I have high regards for Seshan for belting the Indian politicians in style. If you ask this man he will say thats not my job. So the style, approach and character is different but both are the same sincere guys.

For your information, He dod not contest on BJP ticket. He contested on Congress ticket opposite Advani. Later He contested Presidential election and was supported by only Shiv Sena, though he ran pillar to post for support.

gr8 job sir !!! I could understand that how difficult it wud have been to chair EC that too in India. Congress acts like secular whereas BJP tries to be Islam friendly on other hand.

Whatever, Thank you for your service and I hope you will have great time enjoying your retirement.

Why duplicate ration cards
by anuj ram on Apr 22, 2009 02:38 AM

A quote from the former CEC
" In new places, also they take ration card and some take it for other purposes like to open bank account."
I tried to get a LPG connection in Bangalore. The vendor asked if i have a ration card. I told him that i have a ration card issued from my home state,my passport pan card etc.but he insisted on having a ration card issued from Karnataka. If we have a single identity acceptable to any organization, this problem will not be there.

This is the wonderful thing to do by any learned and patriotic Bharatiya. Samskrit is the mother of all languages, its most scientific and structred language.

Samskrit and mathematics makes ones brain sharper. In UK, one high school started Samskrit as compusory subjet. And thats not Indian school, but British schoool with British students.

BJP-NDA is the only way
by CongressIN on Apr 22, 2009 02:29 AM  | Hide replies

BJP-NDA is the only way. Vote support BJP-NDA and save our future.

BJP started huge national highway projects, linking the north south, east west, generated lakhs of jobs. Congress stoped them and created 1.6 crores unemploments in last 5 years.

BJP ruled states developing fast, while lakhs farmers committed suicides in Congress ruled Maharastra and Andhra Pradesh.

so progressed that all Indians seeking a better life are pouring into the state. almost every house in other parts of india has sent some or the other relative to Gujarat to earn a better life. in addition, all gujjus from world over are flooding back to their paradise state and yet the state is so highly progressed that it can absorb millions of people every day. the state is full of world class international airports, metro systems, healthcare, higher education and what not. people in other states like karnataka, maharashtra, AP, TN, etc are living in abject poverty and those states are worse than somalia while Gujarat is like USA...less said about other states of india the better. jai shri ram

Look Where He Is Heading
by Patriot on Apr 22, 2009 02:23 AM  | Hide replies

If one just want to understand his personality and how truthful he is, you have to just hear what he said in the end - He says CEC or EC should be banned from holding posts even if Government offers after Retirement. Who will say like this in todays world? He wants to go learn / teach Sanskrit and enjoy his retirement peacefully. Especially Govt. officials will never say this because they have the complex they didn;t make money like private sector guys. So they always look for Govt to call them back even after retirement in some capacity. This shows he is a sincere man. Can one damn politician say this boldly today? Don't want to take names but not one politician is fit to even talk about this man.

I am sorry Seshan contested against Advani on Congress Ticket and later when denied support by Congress for Presidential election, went back to BJP asking support. So we can't compare this man to Seshan.

deterring good folks

Bad is bad
-- N Gopalaswamy
-----------------------

This bad is what is real good for BJP it seems. We have a saying in Hindi -- honahar bal kay chiknay paat-- BJP with its Hindutva mindset wants to turn this logic on its head.

It seems that they are looking for and have found a sledge hammer to break the rule of secular law so that their brand of Hindutva and Hindu Rashtra can be imposed. Additionally sledging of all civil authorities might also be built into this process to maintain this hold when the political will is broken.
