putting the cart before the horse!
by mohammad vazeeruddin on Apr 16, 2009 10:27 AM  | Hide replies

What is the point in talking about which party or candidate deserves one's vote when tens of thousands of Indians have been denied the vote?
If you look at any Hyderabad-based newspaper, you will find at least one letter from readers on an average six days a week, complaining that they have not received their photo identity cards despite having registered themselves. And the chief election officer of Andhra Pradesh has the gall to say that new voters can be registered only after the current
elections are over!Of what use will the vote be after the elections are over? All along the lament had been that most Indians don't vote.
How can they vote when they have no vote? Is it not like putting the cart before the horse?
Authorities committed to electoral democracy should have ensured that every eligible voter was registered so that he/she might exercise the right. It is true that one can take the horse to the pond but cannot make it drink; but it should also be ensured that the pond is not dry!mohammadvazeeruddin@rediffmail.com

Totally Agree, in our entire block of flats we hardly have one person from each family whose names made it to electoral rolls - event that with too many mistakes.

WHAT IS THE USE OF JAAGO RE?
When it has become Impossible for HONEST people to get their names in Electoral Rolls????

Firstly,

You dont need a election photo identity card to vote if you are in the electoral rolls. Putting your name in the electoral roll is yourown responsibility... dont crib if you did not ensure this part....

You THUG, putting name in electoral rolls is the RESPONSIBILITY of Electoral Officer and Govt. of INDIA.

Illegal Bangladeshis have their names in rolls, but even after 5 visits our names are NOT There.

The educated are still not voting
by Fried Yakov on Apr 16, 2009 10:27 AM  | Hide replies

Look at the pictures from different polling booths in different constituencies- it seems that the elite and educated classes are stil loath to vote. This is very frustrating- unless the educated class votes, and votes decisively for change, we can never expect things to change for the better. So please make it a point to VOTE in this election. It is important to vote for the future of our children

by Vivek Chandra on Apr 16, 2009 10:18 AM

AP is a state of smart people. We can change and vote for a smart leader of a new party, LSP. No harm in trying this new honest looking enthusiast called Jai Prakash. His speeches make a lot of sense.

I am living in north India and i was dreaming for a party who could think for main problem of our country instead of buying votes. And i strongly feel Jan Satta Party is same party for which i was dreaming. I would like this party to come to north India and create a group of people who can only think about to make a better politics and better country.
Jai Hind.

Initially all parties are good. Once they come to in power every thing they are forgetting. This is the indian culture. When indian was independent only 4 to 5 parties are their and strong opposition was Jan Sangh even Nehru fear with this party and equally he is behaving like a friend with the oppostion parties. If you have any doubt ask Mr. Vajpayee at that time he was in Jan Sangh and totally opposit with Nehru in Parliment House for matter discussion and outside parliment he was a very good friendly relation with Nehru. Now we need such type of qualities need in current senerio instead of mud throwing each other. this is democratic coiuntry all politician should have some dignity not only rulling party and also opposition party then only indian will shining. All the voters hereby requested to vote only two parties namely congress or BJP and not all falthu parties and see the result after some years. Indian is in our hand and be shine it.
