Fool some , feed some and foul some in India
by Sudhir Gokhale on Apr 15, 2009 10:46 PM

This is what happens in India. Some fools will always vote based on religion, some parties will feed the poor to fetch their precious vote and some people will be left out of voters list. The problem is that we are given a choice, a right to exercise who should represent us as a decision maker in the Parliament and most literate, educated people dont fulfill that basic responsibility. My request to all the people that blog here is - JUST VOTE.

Time to act .... Please vote
by Vote on Apr 15, 2009 10:38 PM

We have politicians who create regional and religious hatred, politicians who oppose projects like Tata Nano for political gains.

We can change our political system by voting for the right person and persuading/educating people around you to vote for the right person.

Loksatta led by Jayaprakash Narayan(Former IAS)is the only party which said it will not use
1) Money
2) Liquor
3) Religious hatred
4) Regional hatred to win in elections.

It is the only party which said it will not go for strikes to protest against government polocies but will protest in a democratic way.

For a country like India which has a 1100 MW power deficiency importing nuclear technology for power generation is very important. Loksatta is the only party which was not part of the UPA (ruling coilation) which supported the Nuclear deal and urged other parties to support the deal which is very essential for our country.

When govt increased fuel prices because of the increased prices in gulf countries all oppositon parties did unfruitful works like using bullock carts to goto assembly. But loksatta is the only party which said we should reduce our dependency on oil (petrol) we should start using unconventional resources and fuel efficient technologies.

It is the only party which talks about providing good education and health facilities, infrastructure.

Let us all contribute by voting for the right person and campaign for parties like Loksatta which have great principles

MMS was appointed by Sonia.. He was never elected by the people.. The Highest
post in office is appointed by a politician.. This is even bad if it was BJP...

This is QandA's request to all the people of India... Demand following things and I can guarantee that the foundations of Security and Prosperity will be laid..

1) PM should be elected by the people..

2) Police Commissioner should be an ADMIN post and should be elected by people just for 2 years

3) Demand for a New Police WIHTOUT ABOLISHNG THE OLD.. The new police should have new dress code and should be Computer literate and should be in the same PIN code.. Let the market (people) decide whether they should go to old or new police

4) No politician should be allowed to stand for election from 2 places (cities)

5) A law should be made to amend the distribution of party tickets which consolidates power in one hand (This could be Sonia or Advani). Rules should be such that the politicians cannot be slaves to a central authority. Otherwise no corrupt authority in India will allow an OBAMA in India

6) Every politician who holds power will HAVE TO COME ON TV ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS. They will have to entertain questions from random people which should be broadcasted live

7) Schools and Colleges should be taught the Laws and Court proceedings as a compulsory project especially in Muslim and Other minority areas. The emphasis should be on the education of the Constitution of India

zeenews dot com/nation/2009-04-15/523673news dot html..

1. I got all the information about All India Muslim Personal Board.. It on the Web.

2. I also got the RSS information but not much detail..

Does anybody know any video or text or anything authentic that describes RSS thoughts ideology..

RSS was before Sonia came to India. Looks like RSS was a part of freedom struggle of India..

But I need to see docs through which I can understand their ideology.

Like All India Muslim Personal Board wants Shariah laws for Muslims in India (some of them are objectionable to non-Muslims) I need to know similar kinds of proofs for RSS..

Does anybody has any information?????

RSS has done so many good things for the suffering community- without looking at them whether they are Hindus or Muslims. Even Indira Gandhi acknowledged that during her days, when there was a disaster engulfed parts of AndharaPradesh. We also know that even in the Tsunami affected areas RSS has been doing good community service like so many other NGOs.
However, RSS has to blame itself for making the majority of the majority community uncomfortable by its ill thought and ill advised postures and silly talk even when Vajpayee was the PM. As a matter of fact it was RSS and VHP who are the real culprits for the BJP's failure during 2004 elections, but BJP top leadership is scared to talk about that as that will cause more problems to them. While, we are neither supporters or opponents of RSS, we feel that there is very good potential in this organisation, unutilised and if they try to direct it in the right direction, then they will be doing a yomen service to all the communities in INDIA irrespective of the religion they belong to......continued

We can do it
by VR on Apr 15, 2009 10:14 PM  | Hide replies

As long as you keep given suggestions , nothing will happen. Everyone has to take responsibility of educating 100 non-computer users ( common people you meet every day) and convince them to be more participative in the democratic process, to vote, to questions from politicians, to select skill over caste / creed/ religion. Nothing will happen overnite, it will take years of hard work to clean up the system. Everyone has to get involved and do their part. I am doing it. I have taken up a this responsibility to educate atleast 100 people now. Can you do it? If you can't then don't suggest anything.
Our biggest problem is that we talk to much and do very little.

Why shouldnt we suggest anything? These boards are meant for comments. We are not doing groundwork like you are but supporting NGOs etc from outside the country. Educating 100 people is good but that wont change these corrupt systems.

Very good article.
by sagar deshpande on Apr 15, 2009 10:06 PM  | Hide replies

Judicial and law enforcement systems need overhauls in India. The hand of the law should be so strong that politicians should be deterred from corruption. Judicial systems need to be fast yet accurate and a major focus should be keeping the constitution and laws up-to-date with contemporary societal and political picture. Trying to reform these politicians with existing laws is like going after someone with an automatic rifle with a medieval club. There should also be minimal educational requirements for every candidate.

Law enforcement corruption needs to be rooted out completely. Police and other enforcement agencies need to be given equipment and salaries at par with private industry. Systems should be setup to keep police equipped with weapons better than those wielded by criminals. Corruption at recruitment of police/enforcement officials should be attacked and eliminated with very severe punishment laws and watchdog agencies.

Politicians should be made answerable directly to their electorate by legal means.

Today people enter politics and government jobs with the sole purpose of earning money "under the table". Until this purpose is rendered impossible by strong laws and empowered electorate there is very little hope of reforming future politicians.

How we can reform the politician
by Arjun Sharma on Apr 15, 2009 10:00 PM

Excellent! couple of thoughts!
President. Given the present system, if you have president that is so non-functional, not literate and grafted by political system (not by the people), how sure you are that his action will change?

As long as politics is being considered as a profession, there are short term fix but the larger problem remains.

Who will being these new thoughts in place? politician (amendments in constitution or bills) or those who have been given a "roti-ka-tukra" by the politicians?

I see a literacy is one hope otherwise follow the Hindu scripture in which the age of system is well defined where current is lasting for another 30 years.

Can you also re-define seculiarism
by Lopesh S on Apr 15, 2009 09:13 PM

Sikhs getting slaughered in thousands = A MISTAKE.
Hindus getting killed in Kashmir = Political problem.
Muslims getting killed by a few hundred = Holocaust.
Poor protestors getting shot in WB under Left Govt = Misunderstanding.

Banning Parzania in Gujarat = Communal.
Banning Da Vinci Code and Jo Bole So Nihaal = Secular.

Kargil Attack = Government failure.
Chinese invasion in 1962 = Unfortunate betrayal.

Reservations in every school and college on caste lines = Secular. Reservations in Minority institutions = Communal.

Fake encounters in Gujarat [Sohrabuddin] = BJP Communalism.
Fake encounters under Cong-NCP in Maharashtra [Khwaja Younus] = Police atrocity.

Talking about Hindus and Hinduism appeasment = Communal. Talking about Muslims and Islam = Secular.

BJP freeing 3 terrorists to save 100 Indian hostages = Shameful
Congress freeing 4 militants to save just a life of one daughter of I Home minister in Kashmir [Rubina Sayed] = Natural Political dilemma.

Attack on Parliament = BJP ineptitude. Not hanging Afzal Guru the mastermind despite Supreme Court orders = Humanity and Political dilemma.

BJP questioning Islam = Communal. Congress questioning Lord Ramas existance = Clerical Error.

Excellent suggestion.
by Sethu on Apr 15, 2009 09:07 PM

Congrats and thanks to M.P.Anil Kumar. He has once again proved that a person who had served the country in the defence service is in any day a real patriot and not those wolves in sheppered skin posing as the Netas. I too had served as a flight Engineer in the India Air force for 21 long years. My blood boils when I see or hear our criminal politicians .
Now to effect the suggestions given by Anil Kumar, the educated sensible middleclass men and women have to register their voice of support. How will that happen. Now a days every second man you meet has resigned to his fate or are just taking the easy path of following the ways of Netas. Unleass we all join and take some drastic action no Neta will agree to this suggestions. Hope a day will come soon when people will rise en masse and topple the criminal netas.
