While the analysis of the voting trends in the first phase of elections in Andhra Pradesh on April 17 is interesting, I would suspend my judgment until after the results are formally declared; after all, only God knows what the voter has done in the polling booth! The voter knows that KCR remembered the plight of Telangana only after quitting Chandrababu Naidu's government, and has now had no qualms about joining hands with the same Naidu's outfit that had opposed the creation of the Telangana State, and with the CPM which was equally opposed to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. To expect voters to favour political turncoats is to insult their intelligence. mohammadvazeeruddin@rediffmail.com
I was in Hyderabad during Chandrababu regime. There was drought for 9 years due to lack of proper rains in AP. And farmers were committing suicide because they were unable to pay LOANS taken from pawn brokers. Instead of compensating farmers he said they were committing suicide to get EX GRATIA from govt. Since Chandrababu Naidu is good at manipulating MEDIA with the help of big boss, Ramoji Rao this was never disclosed to the rest of world.
The biggest hoax is the Lok Satta party. The party is too good to be true. It shows a hope of a utopian world. The party attracts people who are most confused and have no knowledge of the real world. The party claims that the contesting candidate is chosen in a primary election, something similar to the US primaries. The US primaries are a complicated process which suites the community structure of its society. In the US the voters in the primaries should be a party registered voter, and they can not vote for any other party in the primaries. There is a growing argument in the US that the community structure is fast changing with lot of new people entering into the society, and therefore the system of primaries is becoming irreverent. Here, the Lok Satta party is playing a media game by claming that they have conducted primaries without following the entire system of primaries.
If JP is serious then he would seek change from the bottom by contesting panchayat and municipal elections, where a real change can be brought in without a big effort. But he chose to contest the big ones to confuse the innocent so that the daemons of our politics like YSR and CBN can continue to benefit.
TODAY, THE NOT-WEAK MANMOHAN SAID THAT FOR BETTER EFFICIENCY, THERE WAS DIVISION OF RESPONSIBILITY BETWEEN HIM AND SONIA.
WHAT DOES THIS SILLY AND STRANGE STATEMENT MEAN? DOES IT MEAN THAT HALF THE GOVT. IS BEING RUN HIM AND HALF BY SOMEONE OUTSIDE THE GOVT.? OR WHETHER THE WORK IS VERTICALLY DIVIDED I.E. HIGH POLICY IS WORKED OUT BY SONIA AND ROUTINE POLICY AND THINGS WHERE THEY ARE SURE TO GET DISCREDIT OR THINGS WHICH MADAME JUST CANT UNDERSTAND, BY MMS?
NEVER HEARD OF A PRIME MINISTER OF A COUNTRY TALKING LIKE THIS.
AND MADAME SAYS THAT SAYING THAT PM IS WEAK IS INSULTING THE COUNTRY.
IT IS HOPED THAT WHILE MMS WAS IN HOSPITAL, THE DOCTORS DIDNT TEMPER WITH HIS BRAIN CELLS INADVERTANTLY.

you obviously lack any knowledge of BJP in AP. I think you should visit your local RSS-BJP office and have a private conversation about why BJP is treated like a trd in AP.

Does not require great general knowledge. Andhra is a Southern UP where caste factor over-rides every other issue. A single caste dominates every political party. T.D.P. has Naidus' dominance, Congress has Reddys' and Brahmins, PRP has Malas and Madigas and so on. Religion has no role in this trend or rather people are not concerned about this factor at all because save old Nizam territories Muslims do-not dominate the vote bank. Politicians do-not talk openly about changing equations in politics originating from change in religious pattens. My recent discussions with a government authority related to statistics on religion based data revealed that A.P. is the fastest changing state in India as far as the conversions to Christianity is concerned, though there are comic aspects of these conversions. Never the less, you never know when it may become a political force to reckon with. YSR's double title of Christianity and Reddy title go hand in glove without any reservation in public. After all what compels one to detach himself from Hindu titles after a religious conversion ? Is there any law ? A Tiwari, a Pandey, a Sharma may also convert to a Christian without leaving his caste title. Don't you have caste in Indian Muslims, advocating international brotherhood ? Even Pakistani Muslims are proud of the caste of their ancestors in India and classify themselves socially. Fight against caste system is bogus political slogan. It is a system used in elections and abused thereafter.
