-what about Rahul and his colombian girlfriend Veronica caught red handed by FBI with huge amount of US$ in Washinton airport in the year 2001?
-FBI suspected the loot to be drug-money.

All TV news channels are projecting that Rahul Gandhi will be the PM in the near future because he is young and represents the youth. Please note that Rahul Gandhi does not represent the youth in this country. I don't know how these TV channels can take a small sample of people from JNU or other universities in Delhi and co-relate it to whole of India. He is just a glorified member of the Congress as he is from the Nehru-Gandhi family. What else has he done for the youth or for his constiuencies????

Dont worry too much about Media. Rahul himself has declared MMS as PM candidate should UPA regain majority. In any case Sonia would not let her children take on such a heavy responsibility without proper preparation.

Have a good look at the Indian political parties. Also compare personalities post Janata Party experiment in 1977, from Charan Singh onwards. You would get the answer.

The answer is obvious. India has no leader of the stature of Mdm Sonia Gandhi. Even Dr Manmohan Singh has said so. All Indians fully appreciate the wise and compassionate leadership of Mdm Sonia Gandhi.

Stature is a wrong word you have used here. Personal ambition would have been better.

In fact Sonia herself has admitted her limitations in a number of departments.

Absolutely TRUE. This media has huge role in making of RAHUL the "FUTURE PM" even though many leaders with better caliber and capability will be existing in Communist Congress (i called communist because there is not internal democracy in congress, if someone raise voice, he will be thrown out in name of Discplinary Actions e.g., PA Sangma and Sharad Pawar)

Mahatma also said that partition of India will take place only over his dead body.

If you see what happened after independence (1947) the congress party of freedom fighters gradualy dissoved itself and a new breed of sycophants took over. This was promoted by Indids and Rajivs of the 70s and 80s. What Soniaji is trying to do in 2000s is to redeem congress to her former glory.

There are better qualified people in congress which Soniaji would prefer over her own son, pretty much the same way as she preferred Narasimha Rao and MMS over herself.

tada reddy
let Congress loose in AP......
by tada reddy on Apr 15, 2009 08:01 AM

It is not an issue whether Congress or Grand Alliance will win or loose in the state,(BJP or Congress at the national level) but as a citizen I expect that the parties coming to power should change their attitude and try to serve the people atleast by providing the basic minimum facilities with a focus on human development(education and health for all).

Otherwise the country would get least ranking in the Human Development Report which is really alarming everyone. Sad part of the story is that already we are lagging behind countries like Ethiopia in terms of Hunger as reported by Global Hunger Index.

Let people start asking about the details of each and every rupee spent by the governments hereafter. After all, it is our money pooled through taxes from each and every corner of the country that is given to the government for spending in a judicious manner.

On the other hand, the government that is ruling is deciding on its own and squandering the valuable resources. Hence, rise, rise and question the government everywhere so that the resources would be utilised properly.

Voting today is like selecting a squint eye in all blinds as all political parties are filled with selfish motives and practising corruption openly.

USE THE CHOICE
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Apr 15, 2009 08:00 AM

If the poll indicates none of the candidates are worth voting you can say so, this will call for repolling.Use this option judiciously.
Do not vote corrupt or criminals - may be you will not find many in AP .Go for repoll the cost to the nation indirectly to the common man is less than if they come to power.
I was always blamiong the Loot by DTH and Cable operators - with free color TV - the party coming to power can allow them to hike the rate and collect all the money spent.
All color TVs can be shoved you know where.

Last day before polling ....... Please vote for the right
by Vote on Apr 15, 2009 07:51 AM  | Hide replies

We have politicians who create regional and religious hatred, politicians who oppose projects like Tata Nano for political gains.

We can change our political system by voting for the right person and persuading/educating people around you to vote for the right person.

Loksatta led by Jayaprakash Narayan(Former IAS)is the only party which said it will not use
1) Money
2) Liquor
3) Religious hatred
4) Regional hatred to win in elections.

It is the only party which said it will not go for strikes to protest against government polocies but will protest in a democratic way.

For a country like India which has a 14% power deficiency importing nuclear technology for power generation is very important. Loksatta is the only party which was not part of the UPA (ruling coilation) which supported the Nuclear deal and urged other parties to support the deal which is very essential for our country.

When govt increased fuel prices because of the increased prices in gulf countries all oppositon parties did unfruitful works like using bullock carts to goto assembly. But loksatta is the only party which said we should reduce our dependency on oil (petrol) we should start using unconventional resources and fuel efficient technologies.

It is the only party which talks about providing good education and health facilities, infrastructure.
I request all of you to vote and encourage people around to vote.
Let us all contribute by voting for the right person and campaign for parties like Loksatta

If JP is so passionate about the problems in Andhra Pradesh why dosent he prepares himself to be a deputy of high aciever Chandra Babu Naidu. That way this former IAS officer can be productive and will be able to participate in the reform process in the state and later in the country. We do need people like Jai Prakash of Loksatta Party. The only problem is they do not know how to get into the process of forming goverment.

There is no point in being a deputy to someone whose ideals don't match with yours.JP and his party do not believe in illogical freebies like Colour TVs! It is bribing people and luring them to vote.CBN has done enormous study on power reforms and he initiated power reforms in the state by trifurcating the electricity board. With due credit to him, he once mentioned that free power is a myth. Now, he is promising 12 hrs of uninterrupted quality free power. Doesn't this show that he is getting desperate to come back to power and is willing to promise anything and everything? Yes, as you said, we need people like JP. We need them in politics and not just as IAS officers working under corrupt politicians. We need them in politics in every constituency. May be yes, Loksatta will not be able to form the Govt in the next 10 years too. But one should realise that able administration starts from one's constituency and not directly from CM's home. That is the beauty of decentralisation and Panchayati Raj system. Please support JP, Loksatta

If you know that incentives like TVs or free power are only for winning government... and once you are there you can implement your real agenda of reform or progress. I feel when you talk about Chandra Babu Naidu you offscate to say only things you do not like about his approach to win govenment. Well I also disagree with him on a variety of minor issues. However in the big picture I think he is the man AP is awaits for. And this is where I thing Jai Prakash of Loksatta party would get some advice in terms of being able to do something for Andhra Pardesh. Merely finding faults with others from the sidelines is no big deal.

how many seats he is standing for ? and do you think a new party will achieve anything. It is better to join existing national parties and try to improve them. For example, you can try to reduce corruption in congress at mid levels, and try to reduce communalism in BJP. These things will strenghten national parties which will in turn benefit India. No point I feel in creating a new party which will take a long time in establishing itself.
