BJPs Novel scheme – What did congress do in 60 years ZERO
by Desh Premi on Apr 15, 2009 11:07 AM  | Hide replies

Ladli Laxmi Yojana scheme was started by the BJP government in MP in 2006. In a very short time, it has proved to be one of the most successful social welfare schemes in the history of the state.

Under the scheme, the state government buys saving certificates of Rs 6,000 each year for five consecutive years for every girl born in a family.

The girl gets Rs 2,000 after she completes her Class 5, another Rs 4,000 after she completes Class 8, Rs 7,500 after she completes the Class 10, Rs 200 per month in her 11th standard and a lumpsum amount of Rs 1,18,000 after she enters the 12th standard or, alternatively, attains the age of 18.

The principal aim of the scheme is to eliminate school dropout among girl students and to encourage them to study at least upto pre-college level.

This is what I (as an Indian) call development of girl child; unfortunately no media will project this, but will project BJP as T@liban if some Sene beats a girl who goes to a pub only coz it happened in a state ruled by BJP. This bias is going to be the undoing of the Congress

Any good scheme from BJP is bad for media
by Bskr T on Apr 15, 2009 11:06 AM  | Hide replies

Yeddyurappa’s budget had encouraging news for several sections of the population — farmers, high school students, officials, researchers, patients, alike.

The decision to send 1000 farmers abroad on a study tour will expose them to different types of farming methods. Further a provision of Rs 750 crores as a support price for farm produce is good news.
Yeddi has given a fillip to ornamental fishery and has given an impetus to the establishment of goshalas for the protection of milch cattle. Extending free power to farmers with upto 10 HP pumpsets, introducing e-tendering to bring in transparency, allotting Rs 2 crore for reviving the river Arkavathy and establishing 500 foot bridges in the Malnad to bring connectivity to remote villages, are all heartening to note.

CM also deserves to be congratulated for providing free health insurance to poor families. Another noteworthy point, is the support given to the development of sandalwood cultivation, green villages and medicinal plants

To add to it, Karnataka is only state along with Chattisgarh to have collaborative setup of Ultra Mega Power project of 4000 MW.
Power sharing is 45-55 between the states.
Does not this to be called as National Unity?
Our ELM has never highlighted this.

Mr Sachin

You should be ashamed of yourself for stooping so low. You, me and everybody knows that whatever trash is given there is by some lunatic belonging to the main opposition party, whose leaders have been openly using such tactics, abusing Congress leaders, their party, calling them names, thus discarding basic public ethics and decency. Shame on such party and such leaders.

Only such crap minded sick people can spread propaganda against some sincere and upright person, especially like Rahul.

I do hope Rahul takes note of that and take appropriate action for those responsible for the misdemeanour.

You could also be prosecuted for such repeated nonsense on public forums.

You intention in doing so is quite clear.

Congress will reurn with majority of the LS seats and win state assembly also. Congress has deep root in Andhra, among common people and Reddy is one of those state level leaders who has considerable influence among the people. Not so much dependant on central leadership even. And PR will spoil the party for TDP. I think Congress will loose a few LS seats anyways...

Analysis of Andhra Elections
by Sastry Dhavala on Apr 15, 2009 08:55 AM  | Hide replies

The article projects though not explicitly, TDP as having more than marginal advantage over rivals and predicts Naidu's return to power with some astute maneuvering and and inevitable horsetrading. Likely to be correct. But definitely there was a tactical mistake that TDP has committed. In the climate of anti-incumbency that definitely looms over Congress prospects despite the brave facade being put up by YSR, had TDP aligned with BJP instead of the Left, they should definitely have gained absolute majority. Whoever are Naidu's advisors, have mis-led him on the communal vote-bank aspect both on long-term and immediate prospects. Romping in TRS would not have been difficult for TDP irrespective of whether the other partner is Left or BJP, as TRS has been neutral towards BJP.

Even if BJP is zero, its loss to Telugu people. They have already lost Hyderabad to MIM, further they will lose entire state to missionaries. What a pity on the name of fake secularism.

Agreed that presently it appears as you said. But if BJP is in an alliance with TDP it would have been a formidable force to reckon with. Dormant BJP supporters (who are disenchanted with psuedo-secularism but would vote for other parties when their favourite party does not stand any chance would have (which is the case now) voted for the alliance. And in Telengana it BJP cannot be ignored. Remember 1999/2000 elections, when the alliance won. 2004 deafeat should have been taken ib the stide by TDP as Congress would have to do now.

Andhra manavadus please vote.
by Anand on Apr 15, 2009 08:50 AM  | Hide replies

Dear votes who are going to vote on thursday please remember you anot just voting, you are deciding the fute of India and its citizens. The futer of our children depend on the develpment of our beloved country and its security. There are 3 choices one is an old medicine which we tried many times for more than 55 years and proved to be not working. Then we have the BJP which we tried for 5 years and which worked wonderful for the nation. This medicine could be tried again and see whether they can improve further. Then we have the opportunistic and outdated expired medicince called the commies. They know only to oppose everything except that of the muslims. They talk of freedom of speech but will oppose Taslima of Bangladesh and will boot her out of Bengal, elsewere they will make a hue and cry if Hindus ask for stopping the prothelysing foreigners coming in as tourists. Please do vote and decide who can work genuinely for the development of our country based on its rich culture and religion. Our children should be able to live in our country with dignity and freedom to practice our indigenous religion. We do not want to convert any one but should not let the political masters openly encourage people to convert as is happening in Andhra. The CM through his brother Anil Kumar is encouraging converiton. This is not secular it needs a fiiting reply. Vote out congi.

Anand has mentioned that
"Communists know only to oppose everything except that of the muslims. They talk of freedom of speech but will oppose Taslima of Bangladesh and will boot her out of Bengal, elsewere they will make a hue and cry if Hindus ask for stopping the prothelysing foreigners coming in as tourists".

This is what exactly Indian media also does. What a starking similarities between Indian media and communists. What could be the reason?

Dear Anand and your similar thinkers. I am not a fan of any political party nor do I have any repeat any political affiliations. But your attempt for asking people to vote for BJP is not lost. Do you know that the existing Prime Minister has appealed to put an end to the " killing of the female child" by way of abortions which are 10 lakhs year after year. Or do you condone this selective breeding program. What about other social evils 1. Child marriages 2. Child labor, the prominent amongst others, which the present government has tried to put an end to. Yes I will vote for development, progress, unity, harmony and peaceful co-existence and definitely not for parties asking votes with the hue and cry for " religion in danger ".

Immoralist
Congress cannot win just by zealous ramblings
by Immoralist on Apr 15, 2009 08:44 AM

of an institutionalized and sold-out media (read non-vernacular/English Media).
WHY has not even one media house/think-tank/intellectual(err.. thats what they're supposed to be called, these days i.e.) even remotely skirted(-lifted!-) with the issues that transcend the maelstrom of imagined communal fears and ideological-political affiliations that these said individuals/institutions have so gracelessly spiraled down into.
India is indeed run by creepy old men (and women) after all, who have misused/abused the trust/respect the young place(d) in them, by time and again seducing (and falsely befriending) them into a mindless, make believe world full of the 'glories and graces' of the great gandhi phamily.
Please let the young develop a mind of their own.... dont create political consumers out of them.
