In any case most of the news that came out was all doctored and tailor made to fit peculiar sikular mandate and none of us can guarantee what actually happened there but to rely on such concocted news given out by the govt. spokesmen. But as it was destined, the Charar-e-Sharif did get burned down and had to be rebuilt again!

if its the congresses birth right to be a ruling party and majority of the people are ok with it; why elections then; why is the bjp beating its chest and asking people to given them a chance; so much of time and energy is wasted; so much of money is wasted in meaningless campaigning; let the bjp sit in the opposition & let the congress continue to plunder and blunder eternally.
In March 2008, the SC had ordered setting up of the SIT in response to petitions filed by the National Human Rights Commission and the Citizens for Justice and Peace (headed by Teesta), which sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation and transfer of the cases outside Gujarat. While the SC accepted transfer of the riots case outside Gujarat, it did not accept the request for a probe by the CBI. Clearly, the SC knew that CBI, under the influence of the Congress Govt, would be biased. It is interesting to note that in 2007 Teesta was awarded Padma Shree by the present Congress Govt for her role in "Public Affairs in Maharashatra". Teesta and her husband Javed got 1.5 Crore from Congress and the Left Parties for running an Ad campaign against the Sangh Parivar and the BJP just before the elections in 1999. After her marriage to Javed, Teesta converted to Islam but still uses her Hindu maiden name.

the beauty of this nation is that we have access to all religions and cultures. neither the bjp or the congress is a gaurantee to an end to all our woes; the congress has been tried and tested and it has failed miserably; why not give an alternative an option; if people from other religions as defined by the congress have fear living under the bjp; i appeal to the bjp to boycott these elections.

Didn't come out right. This is a fact that even a school student can verify. Why would the report add "he claimed to the sentence".
At the time of Kandahar release of Murderer Masood Azar and his cohorts by the NDA(not BJP) govt. all of us recall that a particular English TV channel(enjoying almost a monopoly then)owned and run by that Deshdrohi bearded abomination who almost single-handedly orchestrated the Agra Summit for making Parvez Musharraf the hero against Vajpayee,gathered the relatives of the hijacked passengers to scream and shout into his TV cameras day and night to force the govt.to release the terrorists in exchange for the hijacked passengers.The coalition govt.that had many "secularist" & Congress clones compelled the BJP to annul its own agenda of governance in preference to the Common Minimum ("Secular")Programme ultimately forced the govt.'s hand to fall in line with the Congress sympathizer TV channel's machinations.That same channel today is highlighting the Congress's accusation 24X7 that LK Advani was a weak Home Minister who gave a safe passage to the terrorists to Kandahar! Most are scared of the nuisance value of the blackmailing media which may not wish to do you any good but could very effectively ruin your reputation with lies and innuendos for not adhering to their diktats. The only grave mistake that the NDA/BJP made was that they did not go into many of the shady deals and anti-national activities of the owners of this channel($500million dues to DoorDarshan)for nailing them forever and also sending a message to the others to remain within the bounds of national interests.
paul, you seem to be carrying a dirty dossier of the congresses deeds and an even biased one of the bjp; in your unplanned blabber you managed to get religion involved with core political issues.

no all religions must be respected; becuase; all religions are truly above politics. don't punch holes in religion; its complete in itself. its a persons right to follow his / her faith; however; its easy to get agitated when faiths are questioned and ridiculed.
I have tried to post messages in BJP favour on ndtv and ibn websites in decent and logical language. But was not able to do so as in both websites after posting comments the message comes that "your comment is under review" and they don't published it. I think they do not publish even 5% of comments which are in BJP favour or anti congress but post all those which are pro congress.( you can visit these two news channel websites and compare the number of BJP favouring comments with those in Rediff articles where cencorship is regarding abusive language only).
