Hindutava Or Politics !
by Adil Faizee on Oct 07, 2004 10:12 AM  | Hide replies

As far as i know the purpose of the existence of Politicians is to serve the mankind so why is political party divided by religion especially in the world's largest democracy.
The people of the Republic of India should stop condeming each other on religion and act as one group with similiar interests in mind. This will not only help India to compete with the worlds developed nations, it would also higher the standard of living of each individuals.
We have only one direction to move thats in forward direction because we are DEVELOPING nation. SO we should make sure that Hindutava or other religion party should be the least popular political parties, in India because we are looking and working for a better life and to work for a healty life, religion has nothing to do.

Mr Adil,

If u really think on that line then u shud come forward & preach your community to support demand for Common Civil Code and removal of Article 370.
Common Civil Code says that every individual in a country wl hv same rights & duties irrespective of any religion. Don't you feel that wl unite every individual and that is the first step toward secularism and development. Second step is that only economically backward people irrespective of caste, creed or religion shud get reservations upto secondary education. Higher education & jobs on merit. If this happens half of the country's problems wl be solved. Politicians won't be able to blacamail & divide people for their own interest. Think over it and give others a thought.

What a naseating and shameless acceptance of heinous crime and cruel irony of tolerating such bad elements of the society! An apostle of peace is killed and there are people who compromise with the same criminal elements like Savarkar, who is related to the killer of Mahatma. Even all mainstream parties are complementing a person like Savarkar. Lakhs and Lakhs of people and thinkers participated in the freedom struggle but only such a perverted idealogue has got the lime light now!

Interview with Ms. Himani Savarkar
by Sreedhar Pothukuchi on Oct 07, 2004 10:03 AM

The interview with Ms. Savarkar was very interesting. Her views on Hindutva etc. are refreshingly original - they may not have wide acceptance, but there is a marked absence of militancy in her tone, which is relieving.
Trust Rediff to use this opportunity for its favourite pass-time - BJP bashing. Ms. Savarkar's views on BJP were only mentioned in the passing - and that was enough to give a title for this item "BJP is another Congress!!". I wonder if they missed the lesson on composition in school - the title should be representative of the message in the text.

I guess she's lost it big time...crazy to believe that everyone in India is a Hindu...i believe there's nothing wrong in stressing on that fact that all of us have to be indians first...and everything else comes after wards...
but also...if you want the other minority religions to be tolerant enough in that sense...then that does not imply that the hindus can vent and express whtever they think is right...they too need to be tolerant enough...
she wont even get 20 votes this time....i guess its people like her...with such vitriolic views who should not be allowed to contest elections..they are a danger to people as they mislead with their extreme radical views about

Why waste precious space?

The problem with India is that people with half baked impractical people assume they are right and sit down to make a difference.
The good thing is that the electorate knows better.
I think it is a colossal shame that rediff.com did an entire feature on an ideology so antiquated and impractical that it belongs to the museum of natural history.
I mean, is this what we want right now? Hindu Fascism? After those miserable experiences with Nazism in the 40s?
Here we have someone who is probably going to get no more than 200 votes (including her own) - and you have an entire article. Perhaps you should be spending some time on things with a larger impact factor - such as perhaps the environment and energy scenario.
I mean, this person actually feels that asassinating Gandhi was the right thing... She has the right to her own opinion, no doubt. But do the people need to know this?
