Advani's Rath yatra............
by chetan more on Mar 11, 2004 11:30 AM

No doubt what ever yatras our ploiticians undertake are politically motivated.....but this time there is at least a ray of hope that Advani is talking of development and progress rather than Ram mandir ....May be this is the begining of the change in the indian politics which has been more or less remained religion and caste based during last two decades....... may we all understand the need of the hour and our politicians may think of the real issues like poverty ,unemployment ,education ,population growth, security ,economic growth etc.......If BJP could gain the trust of the largest minority in the country, it will be very healthy sign for the democratic set up of the nation........but at present this seem tooo far bcoz minds of both the communities are not yet clear and especially mass of the muslim are still not able to understand that they also will have to change a little to be with the main stream of the nation. If at all Vajpayee can find out some amicable solution to the Ayodhya problem, it will be the biggest achivement for his party and it may change the politics drastically.......

Whom shall we trust?
by Shaikh.N.Meeran on Mar 10, 2004 12:28 PM

Dear Sir,
At the out set I would like know what for articles of this kind are written. A Rath Yatra started somewhere, and people (like the repoter of the article) started writing about trusting/not trusting BJP bla..bla..What necessiates people to write such articles..They can only serve the purpose of manifesting the antagonistic feeling among different communities.
And also the way the generalisations are made in the article are objectionable. It is not correct to say all the muslims will have same peception about BJP all the time.It should be seen in a contextual manner. When it comes to the developmental initiatives..I (being an Indian Muslim) like the BJP. I have full faith in it's capabilities to make India as knowledge Superpower. Isnt that enough for me to trust BJP. For me what happened ten /twelve years back is immaterial. Now one should stop thinking about that, and should look forward what can be done to make ours a developed nation.I would like to ask a small question to the muslims (who have reported their views)that if you dont trust BJP, whom will you trust? Can you name a party which can make India, a developed nation?Being Indians, let's think in this way

Dear Sir,
In the said article it was mentioned that Babri Masjid was pulled down on 2nd December 1992. Wasn't it on 6th December 1992? I wonder how the repoter has made such a grave error in reporting the date. This is not expected of News Portal of Rediff's strature. I hope in future you will take care of such errors.
Thank you,
Shaik.N.Meera

Heck, even some Hindus dont trust the communal BJP. Their only leit motif is to create communal disharmony with lackeys like the Bajrang Dal, RSS, etc. They will not let anyone live in peace. Peace between Hindus and Muslims is anathema for them, to be abhorred at all costs.

Musilims still can't trust BJP?
by Col Suresh Chand on Mar 04, 2004 08:26 PM

Sir,
The article is contrived and does not represent the true picture. Let the author come to me and I will show him the other side of the coin.

Firstly, I commanded asub unit of nearly 95% muslims. I had 100% loyalty. On two occasions my life was saved by muslim soldiers.
Now, out of my ten employees eight are muslims. We talk of politics as any free citizen. The entire village, that had earlier voted for the 'secular' parties is now for the BJP. Blieve me sir. the population is 80% muslims!
In the interest of the country it will be nice to present thr true picture. Yes, India is finally shining!

Advani's yatra

To even talk of Muslims joining BJP is a ridiculous idea. The Advanis and Vajpayees of India have to understand that by just calling certain 'sponsored' crowd from Kishanganj and Rampur in Talkatora Stadium, they can fool the 12-million Muslims.

The Bharat Uday Yatra has been planned keeping the coming elections in mind. It was the same Yatra in 1990 that took BJP from the fringes to the focus of polity in India. While Advani is the hardliner within the party (Vajpayee is for the art of double-speaking!), his presence alongwith the agenda of Development is a double-edged sword. On the other hand, all this farce about India Shining and Feel Good is a farce being spread on tax-payers' money.

Let us also not mince words in accepting that the BJP is a fascist organisation, with its own agenda of creating a Hindu Rashtra. How can such a force even talk of gaining their confidence?

Muslims, at the same time, should also understand that it is a poll-gimmick where anything that is promised is conveniently forgotten once the elections are over. It's time for them to make informed political choices, and not play in the hands of opportunistic leaders and communal political parties.

Muslims still can't trust BJP - Why not?
by Sameera on Mar 04, 2004 12:35 PM

A overnment's job is to do maximum good for maximum number of people. If Muslims take the attitude that only Muslim-specific policies are in their favour and that no other policy can do good for them, they need to wake up.

In a democracy, anyway, religion should have no hand to power. If Congress and other political parties keep aiming at BJP as Hindu party, they are pushing BJP in arms of Hindus and power itself as Hindu vote is in majority.

The good of majority should be thought about by all political parties. If BJP does so, what is wrong? It is about time some party did so. Other parties never thought any good for Hindus and neglected them all of last 50 years. Nobody is asking an opinion from Hindus about this. Why?
