Some how, I missed including most horrible aspect of spineless batting and throwing away of wickets. Probably there could have been a very very remote chance by tail enders and Hardik. So his wicket had to be sacrificed.
Entire game reeks of fixing. So many wides, poorest bowling in the entire series by any team, average fielding and what not. Have not seen a team failing so badly in all departments. It was impossible to perform so badly unless special efforts were made to perform badly.
It is not new for indian cricket, they lost cheaply many times in a final. I can remember once they got out for 54 against Srilanka and lost by 245 runs. Other times against same side they bowled out cheaply with Ajantha Mendis packing them single handedly. So this is just another to the list.
If you recall, the day before the match I had proposed Shami and Yadav in place of Pandya and Ashwin as Pandya was not impressive with his bowling and He didn't have to bat, and Ashwin cannot be effective against Asians. While Pandya proved me wrong by bowling decently(his batting never doubted), Ashwin as expected didn't click. Yes, Yadav and shami would have been my choice.
I think the major mistake is not using Umesh who is in prime form at the moment. Next we need to change Kumble & other support staff. See our bowling unit(except Bhuvi) & fielding standard. Kumble is a bowling coach as well but what he has done? we bowled badly against Bangladesh as well. Captaincy there is no one at present for that cap. Rohit Sharma & Rahane both are too inconsistent & Kohli immatured.
