Virat should have opted to bat first. Generally, when we play second against 250plus target, we are always under mental pressure. In a hurry to make runs, we slip and get out. This is what exactly happened. Only Dravid has been successful in chasing the runs and no one else.
Secondly, for me it looks that we have made up our mind to hand over the match to Pak from the beginning itself. At least their players can land in Pak safely without any casualty.
Captain Kohli should introspect. Whether his moves were right. Having won the toss, he opted fielding. That was the first mistake. Then Bumrahs extras....Then comes the spinners pathetic show and finally the thowing away of wickets. One should atleast bat for 50 overs and try to put up a fight. Horrible bowling,much worse batting.

The main reason was over confidence and head Weight of Kohli for losing the final. Added to this rift between Kumble and Kohli , we are all aware how Kumble was energetic in previous series. We did not find him anywhere during the ICC tournament at least now administration stop Hero worship and give all so called stars a hands down and keep their profile low

I had commented earlier also. Right from the very beginning the Indian Team and its players feels proud of their performance. The same hold good with Media also. They do all this bla bla forgetting the opponents. After loosing to Bengala Desh I thought they will learn but continued the same tactics. After winning semi final for three days the Indian team did bla bla. How much time and money of their own and others they have wasted and ultimately what happened - we lost the match.
1.You can't just win all the time by batting second. The decision should be strategic and based on all influencing factors including pitch conditions (flat!), opposition team and weather. 2. Poor selection of team XI. Three spinners?! Pakistan is one of the better teams playing spin. That too it defies logic in flat conditions! 3.Losing the battle of nerves before the Pak scored 150 runs! Fielding and bowling started wilting under pressure. Look at the extras! Spinners bowling wides?! Deserve some dressing down! By the way, do you guys practice throwing the ball at stumps at all?! To top it all, poor shot selection and again looking edgy due to nerves! Indian team has been time and again exposed for its weakness against fast moving deliveries bowled by genuine pace bowlers! 4. Poor captaincy - No inventiveness...going as per set pattern! A Dhoni or Ganguly would have thought of bowling Yuvi or doing some strange thing (remember Joginder Sharma being asked to bowl). Looked like Kohli was simply overawed by Fakar and company!
5. Do not expose the divisions between the coach and captain and so on when an important series is underway. After all, it does affect the morale of the team!

Yes I agree with you! One can not just put the opposition to bat every time. The decision has to be on factors prevailing at each match. Excellent sunshine, lovely weather,flat pitch, in-form Indian top-order, high pressure game and some what inexperienced batting line-up of Pak - all these factors make it a logical choice to bat first. You may chase 338 in bi-lateral one day series but not in high-pressure CT final.To compound the matter, Bumrah bowled very poorly and Amir bowled perhaps the best opening spell of the entire tournament!
Reckless kohali goes defensI've by not batting first.defensive always cost matches. India should started continued batting form where they was on bangladesh match.any scores around 300 was good for pressure on finals.but kohali not ready to learn lessons..
The same kind of questions can be raised for every match that India has won. The simple fact is that Pakistan showed its unpredictability once again and ran out deserving winners. Let's appreciate them rather than look for lame excuses.
Umesh, Shami, Ajinkya and Suresh Raina should have been included for Rohit, Ashwin, Jadhav and Bumrah. The above have vast experience and are agile on the field.

Raina was not there in the 15 picked to play in Champions trophy.Agree that Umesh should have played the final instead of AshwinJadeja.But the other 2 cannot be asked to play in finals directly without playing any league matches.
