by Bwinde Kang on Oct 04, 2016 10:09 PM

From humble start to mighty end!
by Bwinde Kang on Oct 04, 2016 10:06 PM

The BCCI owes its origin to the innocuous undertaking given by Maharaja of Patiala to the MCC team lead by former England captain Arthur Gilligan in 1926 that they shall “establish a single controlling body” for securing the membership of Imperial Cricket Conference. As a result of consensus reached on Nov 21, 1927 by delegates from Patiala, Delhi, United Provinces, Rajputana, Alwar, Bhopal, Gwalior, Baroda, Kathiawar, Central India, Sindh and Punjab, the BCCI was registered under the [then] Madras Societies Registration Act with six associations affiliated to it. Coming to think today this private body has garnered political clout, money and power to challenge the highest Court in the land!

BCCI MEMBERS BEHAVING LIKE RICH SPOILT BRATS
by damodaran mohan on Oct 04, 2016 05:01 PM

As per media report if Lodha report is implemented then BCCI can hold either IPL or participate in Champions trophy and not both. Frankly it is a minor issue that can be resolved in no time if only BCCI is willing to.Is there any doubt that the BCCI johnnies are behaving like spoiled rich brats? After all what does Lodha committee recommend ? Closing down of ‘You scratch my back and I yours’ type of the ‘cozy club’ of handful of people remaining in control of the BCCI in rotation for lifelong to change to a rational cricketing structure and a transparent system of functioning cutting out arbitrary decision making handling large sums of money. Why? To avoid scams like those related to IPL, Lalit Modi, allegations of past financial irregularities by BCCI chiefs etc. Certain recommendations might not be very practical but BCCI could have always sat with Lodha committee and sorted out to arrive at a compromise more acceptable form. Instead BCCI approaches Justice Katju aimed at adopting a confrontational approach to embarrass the Lodha panel deliberately. Such an imprudent approach bordering on defying SC only reflects the immaturity and arrogance of the power drunk Board members who need to be shown their places by the SC.

Pressure tactics by BCCI (Anurag & his team)
by vinay agarwal on Oct 04, 2016 12:49 PM

Just chill, nothing is going to happen to Cricket or for that matter Indian Cricket, it is just that one politician turned BCCI President Anurag & his team, who has taken SC and its appointed Lodha Committee very casually and when Lodha committee has taken even harsher steps by instructing Yes Bank to fellow SC guidelines and not disburse any money till SC hearing on 6th October, they (Anurag and his team) are caught at wrong foot and they started pressure tactics by implanting some news item in one or more newspaper and in one or more online news portal/s. Nobody whether sitting at the top of BCCI or at bottom of BCCI can think of cancelling any tour that too in between because ultimate sufferer would be BCCI and its office bearer and stakes in cricket are too high to lose.

Now BCCI must take special permission from court & open & operate temporary account to clear current & pending payments .

Without an account how pending dues will be cleared ??

AND THE TOUR MUST GO ON .

TOUR CANCELLATION & PAYMENT DEFAULTS WILL DEFAME THE IMAGE OF BCCI IN FRONT OF ENTIRE CRICKETING WORLD . THIS WILL BE A BLOT ON BCCI .

AND MOREOVER , TEAM INDIA WILL MISS GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO WHITE WASH NZ .

When the house is on fire, here’s someone who wants to eat ‘murmura / chirmure’ from rice fried by the fire instead of throwing water to save the house.

Cricket is going to dead in India
by uk deka on Oct 04, 2016 11:04 AM  | Hide replies

Sorry to say the honorable court are unnecessary overstep in sports matter. The court don't have administrative power at all. Can control ICC by our honorable court. what will happen if ICC cancelling BCCI membership as state interfering in sports? As BCCI a private body than how can interfere by state or court in their internal matter of BCCI? Can honorable Justice Lodha understand cricket? If any cricket player are complaining on BCCI administrative matter at any court? If leading cricket player not willing to play under honorable Justice Lodha system then who will responsible? Is court try to finish cricket in India? are BCCI ever misuse public or govt fund? if somebody not satisfy with BCCI than why he/they will not form another cricket body? BCCI is a business in India. if somebody not interested to BCCI then please not follow any cricket activity under BCCI. like can we interfere in reliance business, TATA business as well as other business. But we can complain other govt funding sports or govt department. Because they are all using public money. I hope people should understand the fact. Don't forget that cricket are popular in India for only BCCI policy.
