Indians were poor in Batting, Bowling & Lacked Discipline
by Hindustani on Apr 01, 2016 10:15 AM  | Hide replies

India read the pitch completely wrong. The par score on this pitch was not anything less than 200.

With the bowling attack that India had, they
should have scored at least 220.

India preserved their 8 wickets & scored too slowly. Rahane & Dhoni should have batted more aggressively. Dhoni should have gone for big sixes instead of one & two runs. Rahane was too slow for T-20 liking.

Many people are only saying about no-bowls but I think the difference between the two teams at the end was POWER HITTING. WI were able to hit the sixes easily & effortlessly whereas India had to labour hard to score their runs. India relied heavily on ones & twos more than fours & sixes, which is not sufficient on Wankhede wicket.

Secondly, Indian bowlers were TOO MUCH DEFENSIVE & NEGATIVE.

Many people were calling Ashwin as best in the world. But in the game against Australia & even in yeterday's game it has been proved that he is not even best at Domestic level. He bowled pathetically. Even Kohli with the bowl was better than him.
Bumrah got Gayle out with in-swinging Yorker but it was inexplicable why he never bowled any of those afterwards & continue bowling length bowls & short bowls which is food & drink at this wicket.

Indian bowlers LENGTH was completely WRONG on this pitch. They bowled too much short & short to good length bowls on this wicket. They had not done their homework properly. I
Had they seen the game of SA vs Eng on the

same pitch played in the group stages, they would have realised that SA did the same mistake of bowling the good-length & short bowls & paid the price.

NASSER HUSSAIN POINTED OUT PERFECTLY DURING SAvsENG GAME THAT, ON WANKHEDE PITCH, IF YOU BOWL ON GOOD LENGTH & SHORT LENGTH YOU ARE GOING TO BE MURDERED. YOU HAVE TO BOWL LIKE DEATH OVERS AND YOUR LENGTH MUST BE FULLER or YORKER FROM THE START.

Indians didn't learn their lessons from previous games which had been played here & paid the price for it.

India aspired to win by forcing windies to defend under the dew of wankhede and succumb to it...but team India ended at that wrong end..this match should have been played on a dewless venue

Why India lost at Nagpur against NZ by humiliating 47 runs ? There was no dew there.

Why India ALMOST lost to Bangladesh, save those last 2 bowl of Pandya's 20'th over ?? There was no dew on Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Dew is a blatant excuse as usual given Dhoni. Whenever he lose the game he invariably has some or other excuse to make....Dew, Toss, Pitch, Conditions, Selection, Injury, No bowls.....all these are nonsensical excuses always been given by Dhoni & Co. for their failures....

REALLY HE (LENDL SIMMONS) was very lucky that twice he got out of a noball & had been called to the field by the umpire.Really he used that opportunity very nicely & went on to score 82 runs partnered with Russell. And russell held his nerves & hit a massive 6 to take his team to final.

India was the LUCKIEST team in this tournament.

They had lost the match & wouldn't have been playing here in semi finals had Bangladesh played the last 3 bowls of Pandya's over sensibly.

Virat Kohli can not save you your face every time. It's a TEAM GAME. Everybody has to contribute....

TEAM FAILURE
by Kannan Ramanan on Apr 01, 2016 09:55 AM  | Hide replies

We always seem to be gunning for Captain whenever Team loses and eulogising when team wins. Yes Captain is important, but not the only factor which causes team to win or lose. Yesterday's loss is purely due to bad bowling, which could be due to dew or plain bad skill. 191 is a decent total, but seeing the Wankhede stadium track record of big scores being chased down, we should have blasted 20-25 runs more and atleast bowled with some discipline. Look at the ratio of boundaries and sixes between India and West Indies, a clear indication of fearless batsmanship by Windies and poor bowling by Indians. Hardik Pandya is not at all a big talent as he is being tom tommed. His bowling is very mediocre and whatever wickets he got so far, not due to bowlers plan or execution, purely batsman's mistakes. Pandya and Jadeja were biggest failures yesterday, had they given 20 runs lower things would have been different. We've got to admit we played badly, rather than always looking at captain. Even if Kohli was skipper the same result would have come. Hero cup Sachin tendulkar over and South Africa's failure to make 3 runs will not ever happen because of T20, IPL etc there is an element of fearlessness in today's batsman and bowler's are slogged at disdain.

I believe wankhede should be banned for day-night matches due to its monstrous dew at night

hahahaha... what would be your reaction had India won yesterday....Grapes are always soar man!!!!!

It's all nonsensical excuses that Dhoni give after shameful defeat.

Dew, Toss, Pitch, Condition, No bowls, Injuries.......

All these childish excuses are always ben given by Dhoni & Co. smother the fact that India played poorly than West Indies on that day....

Each & Every time Virat Kohli can not save India's face...

Someone else also must own the responsibility sometime....

Wnahede should be banned for dew.

What about Nagpur? You will also ask to ban it too? Just because we couldn't play on the turning track? at our own backyard ?????

Poor Strategy

Dhoni's strategy failed.Wankhede is a 200 plus wicket. He should have sent pinch hitters first to boost up the scores in the initial overs.Less than 200 cannot be defended on this wicket considering the dew which Dhoni was fully aware of.

why is he(Dhoni) reluctant to give opportunity to harbhajan. We all know that once he was a turbunator. That way he bowls, makes batsman think twice before hitiing his delivery.

Captain F001 becomes Elaborate & Expansive whenever India lose, he innovates New Excuses & Reasoning - The Bottom line does not change the Result - Indian Team Lost and the Crowd were silenced.

Will Dr. Dhobi take Moral responsibilty & Retire graciously ???

If it had been a Private or MNC, they would have Junked Dhobi Long ago after so many losses.

same opposition was defeated by Afghans...how??
same opposition was given difficult time by South Africans....how??
that's because those matches were not played in dew..the result could have been different if this match had been played on a venue without dew factor
