Try inventing done more excuses. Maybe we lost due to Bucknor. Or that kid who wax eating Icecream in a cone. Or the drinks van which drove 2 meters extra on the ground.

Match was fixed because it was first time Vitat was given ball to bown instead of Raina. In quater final also they won against Bangladesh by managing the things. Great Dhoni has earned a lot for his many next generations.
Indian side had lost the match mentally even before it went out to bat. Virat Kohli's reaction to one of the sixes struck by Mitchell Johnson and the tense expression on his face said it all.

Virat was worried for "how long he has to stay on ground, when Anushka was in crowd".... I really felt very sad looking at the body language of our players. Once 300 was crossed, Dhoni as well as Shastri's faces were very nervous and showing the pressure....
I know it may sound absurd, any its easy to tell anything on anyone once one has lost, but I feel that the result could have been opposite if: a. India had a full spin attack. b. More temperamental batters like rahane and dhoni (flexible stance and innovative, adaptable), than classy players like rohit, dhawan and kohli (stylish shot making, but lesser feet movement/adaptive).
Australia is fearful of spin, as India is of pace. India thus played to Aussie strengths w/o express pace like Pakistanis.
If Indian pacers could turn the ball (cutters/swing) more than the Aussies, that could also come in handy at slow pace. Otherwise, it was cannon fodder for them, and Indians played to Aussie strengths (pace bowling).
Lastly, Dhoni was chasing results for a top group finish, where he should have rejigged batting order to let lower order batters mature in pressure situations, like Vettori.
In the end, its all about handling pressure and playing to your strengths. And this comes from adaptability by performing overseas and getting greater exposure, just like Aussies have a measure of the Indian mind through IPL and are more mature. Hope BCCI arranges for better overseas exposure of Indian players (e.g. sheffield shield etc.)
Batting: Around 6 Aussie batsmen have a good staying power, in India only 2: Dhoni and Rahane.
Let's see how India prepares for the future. It needs to 'TRAIN' players to take pressure and perform: the way Dhoni alone knows how to hit last ball sixes.

And once you have your back secured - i.e. temperamental batters, and bowlers being able to bowl where they want to, THEN sort out the weakness of opposition to YOUR strength of bowling (spin/pace).
Else, one cannot get Steven Smith (another temperamental and adaptive batsman) out cheaply.
Well, India did quite well to get to the semis , but were outplayed in all depts. by Aus. We can be glad that our pacers are firing now and hopefully we'll get to win a few Tests and ODIs overseas from now on - otherwise this long tour would have been in vain.
